Support Tip: SSL Error using Login Macro Recorder 6.0

WebInspect 20.2 and up


Situation:
The macro quits working or the TruClient macro recorder page displays the message: SSL Error: The message received was unexpected or badly formatted. Navigating to the URL through a browser works fine. This can happen when playing back macros that worked previously, or when attempting to record a macro.

Cause:
This can occur for the first time after hardening has been done on the host computer. Also, it can be implemented on web servers that do not accept older protocols. To verify this issue, the Event Viewer System log will show SCHANNEL errors.
