IDM Dash forms and requests

Hello guys,

I'm trying to understand some features to help my team, and one of them is the request forms. I saw that there currently exists in IDM Dash a standard "Help Desk" form and that this could help us, but I am not mapping where this can be done / customized correctly. Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Regards,

Ana.

  • Hello Nihii, thank you for the reply.

What if I want to create a form like the example? How can I proceed? Do I have to create in the design? I'm referring to creating one from scratch.

Ex: We need a form whose application is like "Disable Access" with fields and everything else.

    Regards,
    Ana.
  • You have to design the form through Designer and then build the workflow as per the business requirements. Once done you can deploy the workflow into eDirectory. Then you can map it using the UserApplication logging in as uaadmin
  • Hi pappa_recd1, thanks for the reply.

The workflow it says is inside the created form, right? These two steps were done, I was just in doubt about how to get them to pass and be displayed in the idm dash. About the Edirectory, do you have any material I can read about how to do this?

Anyway, that helped me a lot, I was completely lost in what to do. Thank you!

    Regards,
    Ana.

Ah, you need an intro to workflows. The mechanic behind it, in terms of
where the whoza-whatits all reside are in these two articles:

    /cyberres/idm/w/identity_mgr_tips/4211/introduction-to-workflows-and-prds-in-identity-manager---part-1

    /cyberres/idm/w/identity_mgr_tips/4858/introduction-to-workflows-and-prds-in-identity-manager---part-2

Basically this tells you all the moving parts in Designer and where to
look and what they look like.

User App/ID Apps renders the PRD (Provisioning Request Definition).

There is a front end, GUI, that is the "Form" that you design in
Designer. (My articles explain where the bits for that reside).

Then once the user is done, all the data the form collected is passed to
the Workflow, which then does 'stuff' with it. This part can be trivial
or insanely complex. Seen both. My articles will explain where the bits
are there. (And there is a lot of stuff hidden).

Now, HOW to do stuff in the form, and how to do stuff in the Workflow
part is all tricky and super powerful. I have some articles on that,
but I am too lazy to look for them at this second.

This will get youo started a lot faster than just reading the docs.
