I realize that the real answer to this question is "don't do that" but On the off chance there is a workaround I'm going to ask anyway.
Customer is trying to install NetIQ 4.5.5 on eDirectory 9.2.x
They are immediately stopped by the error message
NetIQ Modular Authentication Service (NMAS) was not found installed on the
system. Please install NMAS 8.8.8 or later (Security Services 8.8.8 or later)
then try again.
Obviously the latest version of NMAS is installed with eDirectory but the old NetIQ does not see it as valid.
They don't want to pay for an upgrade to NetIQ because they are moving away from it. They need something to get them by in the interim.
Any thoughts?
