Very good question. How to license SAPIM, since it needs NAM to run?

Let's have following example:

We have:

• 5 NAM admin personnel
• 30 developers publishing APIs
• 300 different applications using APIs exposed by SAPIM
• 10.000 users using those applications.

Everything runs on NAM cluster (6 servers) and two SAPIM servers. 

What do we need to buy?

- SAPIM licenses - probably two instances

- What about Access Manager? 10035 licenses?

The licensing model is similar to Access Manager. Once you deploy the SAPIM you need to get a License Key and configure it with NAM 5.0.

Once configured you can see the Section to integrate the SAPIM with NAM.

However, we have provided the limiting policy to limit the usage of APIs.

NAM 5.0 comes with a Trial Licence which will be available to use for 90 days. Once expired the SAPIM section will disappear from the dashboard.

You need to enable the Secure API Manager to use the Trial License. Later you can upload the valid license. License are available at sld.microfocus.com.
