Certificate authority

I have my eDirectory certificate authority expiring on January 13, 2022. When it expires, will all certificates created from it stop working? I'm thinking they will but am not really sure. I have the usual server certs as well as certs for the IDM remote loader in Active Directory, also generated certs for ClearTrust Access Manager.
