Have you tried with 'rpm -Uvh netiq-DXMLuad.rpm' ?

I personally have never used -F, I use -U for updates.

Pooh, now that I look at it again, it complains about 32bit packages which to my knowledge is no longer used by eDir (which is fully 64bit). I think they install them for some backward compability.

You could do one of two things;

- remove the two offending packages, whcih should work - you can always install them manually later - unless these two packages are required by something else.

- use the --nodeps to ignore the conflict.

Either option is not perfect, or you can talk to the nice people at Microfocus and have them come up with a supported solution. 

You can use 'rpm -q --whatrequires <package>' to find packages which depend on a package.

Brilliant ideas. I can imagine that we could run into other issues later. So I'd rather like to know what the real issue is. After all, the edir upgrade (9.2.5) that came with the idm 4.8.4 patch, so there could be a reason as to why the two modules are there.

I will try to see what techsup has to say about it. Result will be posted here for reference.

The conflict comes from having installed remote loader on the machine.

It is a single box system, the solution is:

rpm -Uvh [the rpm in question] --force

One quick question after that upgrade, do you have the correct User Application driver version displayed?  Perhaps if you could just tell me which one is displayed.

Indeed so:

And designer says the package is 4.8.4.20210706[something]

And UA is: 4.8.4 b2178306
