I would look at the osp directory, and see if there is a logging config file in there.  Usually that is where you would set all this.

To change the log file format for Identity Manager 4.8 on RHEL 7.9, you can use the logrotate tool.

1. First, create a new logrotate configuration file in /etc/logrotate.d/ called "osp-idm",
2. Then add the following contents to the file:

3. This will rotate the osp-idm log file daily, keeping a maximum of 30 days' worth of logs.
4. To remove the date from the log file name, you need to edit the tomcat logging.properties file which is located in /opt/netiq/idm/apps/tomcat/conf/logging.properties.
5. Search for the line containing "osp-idm.%d{yyyy-MM-dd}.log" and replace it with "osp-idm.log"
6. Save the file and restart the tomcat service.
7. Now you can use the logrotate tool to manage the log files.

Please note that you need to test the above configuration and make sure that it works with your environment before using it in production.I hope this will work for you.

Interesting, but I have not found the logging.properties file on any known environment at the place and with the content you mention. We had to deal with quickly rotating verbose osp logs in a different way since thy seems to be configured in some default code inside the app. Not a fancy thing but we just cron-copied what we wanted to a different directory to keep full span for a day.
