How to increase swap memory manually in Sentinel (Appliance)

Hi to all, in a server appliance SLES 12 we have running the Sentinel services over IDM 4.7.5, but the swap memory every 2 weeks aprox its fill up.

Currently this appliance has 2GB as swap and 24GB as RAM , we need to know how to increase the swap memory manually.

Appliance Information:
NAME="SLES"
VERSION="12-SP3"
VERSION_ID="12.3"
PRETTY_NAME="SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP3"
ID="sles"
ANSI_COLOR="0;32"
CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:suse:sles:12:sp3"

Sentinel Information:
Sentinel 8.2.0.0.5064 (Appliance)

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

    First of all I suggest you look into upgrading Sentinel 8.2 to the latest, which is 8.5.0.1:
    www.microfocus.com/.../

    ...as you can see Sentinel 8.2 is out of general support since 31st March 2021.

    Now if you do upgrade to Sentinel 8.5.0.1:
    www.microfocus.com/.../

    www.microfocus.com/.../s8501-release-notes.html

    IMPORTANT:
    For appliance, If you are upgrading from Sentinel 8.3 and prior versions, you must first upgrade to Sentinel 8.3.1.0 by using Offline Patch ISO, then only you can upgrade to Sentinel 8.5.0.1 either through channel update or using Offline Patch ISO.

    Regarding increasing the swap size, I checked this:
    www.cyberciti.biz/.../

    .../proc/swaps, and even in Sentinel 8.5.0.1 appliance with SLES 12 SP5 it's set to the same size:
    Filename                Type        Size    Used    Priority
    /dev/dm-1                               partition    2097148    5384    -1
    /dev/dm-1                               partition    2097148    5384    -1

    I came across a few articles that might help, but make sure before making any changes to have a valid backup or if running on a virtual machine, a snapshot:

    documentation.suse.com/.../cha-advdisk.html

    sapbasisinfo.com/.../

    Thanks,

    Henk
