Announcing Voltage SecureData z/Protect 8.1.0

The Micro Focus Voltage zTeam is pleased to announce the release of Voltage SecureData z/Protect 8.1.0. This release adds support for second-generation Format-Preserving Encryption (FPE2); second-generation Secure Stateless Tokenization (SST2); and Format-Preserving Hash (FPH).​​

Updates:

  • FPE2 support
    Second-generation Voltage Format-Preserving Encryption (FPE2) is now supported, providing parity with other SecureData clients.
    Note that formats with “extended” characters are specifically for the standard EBCDIC 1047 code page, aligning with US-ASCII.
  • SST2 support
    Second-generation Voltage Secure Stateless Tokenization (SST2) is now supported, providing parity with other SecureData clients.
  • FPH support
    Voltage Format-Preserving Hash (FPH) is now supported, providing parity with other SecureData clients.
  • Improved FPE1 performance
    Performance of FPE1 operations is improved.

Resolved customer issues:

  • All PTFs from SecureData z/Protect 7.1.0 have been incorporated.
  • Some minor usability improvements have been added. See the SecureData for z/OS Version 8.1.0 Release Notes for more details.
