Voltage SecureData for Snowflake (AWS Edition) 1.0 Released

Voltage SecureData for Snowflake (AWS Edition) 1.0

August 2, 2021

Features and Benefits:

On March 22, 2021, CyberRes revealed that it partnered with Snowflake, the Data Cloud company, to integrate Voltage SecureData and Snowflake. Today, we are thrilled to announce the general availability of SecureData for Snowflake (AWS Edition) that enables the use of Voltage data protection within the Snowflake Data Cloud.

This release is a 100% cloud-native solution that allows our customers to:

  • Persistently protect data when or anytime after it lands in the Snowflake Data Cloud.
  • Conduct secure analytics in Snowflake with role-based access to result sets enabled directly on specific data elements via SQL function calls or transparently in combination with Snowflake masking policies.
  • Securely and safely share data both inside and outside Snowflake for extended first-party, second-party, and third-party analytics.

Product Overview

The integration creates a set of Snowflake External Functions and links them to a customer’s SecureData servers via the use of intermediary Amazon web services. This includes primarily Amazon API Gateway and AWS Lambda, at which we have defined a corresponding set of serverless SecureData cloud functions that permit data protection and access.

The product includes:

  • Build scripts that automate the installation and configuration of the integration and its supporting services across AWS.
  • Manual installation and configuration guides that explain how the integration is built and set up across AWS and how it can extend to include additional options.
  • Support for all data protection types available in SecureData, including FPE, eFPE, FPH, and SST, for pseudonymization or anonymization of PII, PHI, and PCI data.
  • Access to all of SecureData’s built-in formats, including AUTO, the Japanese formats, and language support via 'Safe Unicode FPE.'
