HCM User Config From LDAP with attribute uidwhich we don't have in AD

We are in the process of Implementing HCM which requires connectivity through LDAP and its with attribute of uid which is not there in Active Directory..got the info that earlier vesrions had sAmAccount name and email address as login attributes.Ours is 2019 version .Kindly update how to proceed

You can not just modify a property.
You need to go to the Order Portal (MPP) and do make a modification request to the Subscription
Condition 1 and 2 must be true not either or.

Actually I'm in condition 2 . I'm making a change in an input property directly binded to the component property ( The modification is triggered at this specific component layer )

In another hand this property is binded to another property within a different component ( not a children one). I just want to know why modification actions are not triggered on that component ?

CSA does not trigger modifications just based on Property Updates via API.
Modifications to my knowledge are only triggered when following conditions are true

1. There is a Modification Request from MPP for the respective subscription
2. The modification did changed any input property that is directly or indirectly bound to a component property
Under those conditions modifications on the component and all bound Resource offerings will be triggered.
If 2nd condition is not given it will also not trigger modify flows.
Maybe this changed in the newer versions ... but this is what I know

How to Create a User in CSA and MPP

Hi,

I want to create a user in CSA Management Console and Marketplace portal. I don't have LDAP access and hence I'm going for a local user.

I followed following steps for user addition in CSA:

1. Logged in to CSA application server.

2. Encrypted password along with role with following command:

java -jar passwordUtil-standalone.jar encrypt <password>,CSA_ADMIN,enabled

Output of this command gave me an encrypted password.

3. Edited provider-users.properties file under path HPE\CSA\jboss-as\standalone\deployments\idm-service.war\WEB-INF\classes

Added a new user with following string:

myuser=ENC(<encrypted password given by above command>)

4. Save and tried login to CSA Management Console with user myuser.

I'm able to login to Management Console but getting attached error every-time I click any option under my left panel.

Am I missing anything here? Please help.

Also, please guide me on the MPP user creation as well.

CSA/HCM Content Store - Access Manager Authentication

Earlier this year, Passport user accounts were migrated to Access Manager as part of the separation from HPE. However, ITOM Marketplace APIs such as the ones used in HCM/CSA Content Store were not able to make this migration and have continued to use Passport Credentials to authenticate. ITOM Marketplace Team announced last week the Access Manager support for all ITOM Marketplace APIs.

To update your credentials to Access Manager in Content Store, first create an Access Manager account here if you do not have one. If you access entitled software, you should also configure your entitlements and contracts in the My entitlements section here in MySupport. You can go to the Marketplace login page here and login using Access Manager to test your account if needed.

Please note Passport support will end August 30^th 2019, so please be sure to make this update before the end of the month to avoid interruptions.

HCM/CSA Content Store Configuration

To update your Content Store settings in HCM/CSA:

In the HCM/CSA Console Settings navigation frame, select Content Store.
Provide or update the following information:

Item	Description
User Name	The Micro Focus Access Manager account username.
Password	The password for the Access Manager username

Click Validate.

The validations pass/fail message appears at the top of the window.

Validation passed - the settings are all valid and the Content Store tile can be enabled.

Validation failed - one or more settings are not valid and the Content Store remains disabled.

If the validation fails, check the following:

You have access to the internet through the proxy information you provided.
Your Access Manager credentials are correct.
You have permission to access the CSA/HCM product page on the ITOM Marketplace.

Click Save when the configuration is validated to enable the Content Store tile.

HCM 2019.05 Install - Suit / Marcetplace Portal - already in use

Ajay,

As far as I remember, the CO alerts are purged from the CO database (typically after 90 days, but depends on your license), which then reflects on the alerts page in the CO UI.

If you are using the OBM integration, then the CO alerts sent to OBM as events are closed in OBM when the alerting condition is no longer met.

So 2 different behaviors, depending where you are looking.

And we found the below url where it mentions about "QCCR1D245179", however there is no link to download. Does this mean this hotfix does not exist anymore, and the changes are present in latest hotfix, that is "QCCR1D245181"? Please revert back at the earliest.

User Action Input Validation for Complex password

So user has to provide password input, but since it's user input we need to validate it's complex and meet customer requirements for complex password requirements. so we have created JSP to validate password "Password-Validate.js" below content of that JSP that should be simple and forgive me if I miss something.

We have setup chatbot with OO and Mattermost.

Usage was:

@maestro oo get version

This sends message to maestro user (which needs to be created in Mattermost).

@maestro help

This returns all possible commands. But even if you send command with misspelling it will detect the correct one 🙂 Example: oo get versoin

Difference between other integrations with Mattermost (assume with Slack or MS Teams is the same) is that you are not using slash / commands. You are chatting with the bot with direct messages.

Python depends on identation with spaces. I presume your file contains tabs or wrong identation.
You can validate and format the script before copy it to a text file on a server by online validator/formater

time command just calculates execution time. You need to run only the SA agent python with the script.

Another solution is to schedule the script to output data to a text file on a SA managed server(could be CSA) and read the file from a dynamic JS. If it is running on a remote server you can schedule a file copy operation of the file to CSA.

The attached script can be executed in SA against any core or managed server(Windows or Linux). Linux responce is much faster. You can add it in SA as a Server script then you can execute it from OO or directly from dynamic JS. There are OOB OO operations and flows to execute a SA server script job and get result.

I have never used POST method of the HTTP/S client in dynamic JS so I am not sure if it is exposed/implemented but if it there is should not be so hard to do the same directly from dynamic JS. You can follow the attached script logic.

A SA python script that collects information of all patch policies is also a feasible solution. The script should be executed agains an SA Core. It take 4-5 sec to get the patch policies list. The script execution can be run from a dynamic JS in CSA . It easy to call an OO flow from a dynamic JS which will trigger and collect the patch policies list from python script the SA.

Another approach is to develop dynamic JS that executes SA SOAP calls to get the information of all patch policies.

suggest to load the list in a dynamic js from a caching DB table (extra DB). this caching DB can be loaded by a scheduled flow from time to time by using the SA API. reason to do it with a caching DB is

1. to increase UI Response time

you will need to check the upgrade steps. there is probably no direct path to latest version.

CSA 4.6 is classic install. last Classic install version is 4.92: upgrade notes here:

UUID is usually resolved from a Token. depending on the token there might be different operations.

most commonly to get artifact properties is.

where artifact ID is the UUID of the CSA Artifact you retrieve a property from.

Hi,

CSA 4.92 is the last standalone version available for download. You need to migrate to HCM NG from CSA 4.92. As part of HCM NG media install, you will find there is CSA 4.94 however it is mainly rebranded version of CSA 4.92. There is no upgrade path certified from CSA 4.94 to HCM NG hence we recommend to stay at CSA 4.92 and upgrade to HCM NG from it. CSA 4.92 to HCM NG is the only migration path supported from classic CSA to HCM.

to my knowledge 4.92 is the last version released for classic install. 4.94 is to my info mainly a rebranding release.

starting after 4.92 you need to go for container releases.

we are at OO 2018.05 which got certified for CSA 4.92. you will need to check with Support if newer versions of OO are as well certified for CSA 4.92.

For us this is an issue as well as we cant upgrade yet to containers

Our solution previously used CSA 4.92 + OO 10.80 and now we are looking to upgrade. I have been able to download OO 2018.09 for test/dev, but the latest version of CSA listed for download is still only 4.92. I am not sure if I need 4.94 or later.

sorry but iam not familiar with the containerbased installation of CSA. so i can not guide you here without setting up an environment... which i cant at the moment.

documentation says:

when you can start the action via MPP then it should trigger it. i suggest you do a tail -f on the csa log on the controller.

in classic CSA install it is under <installdir>/jboss-as/standalone/log/

OO Flow Run from HCM

Hi Team

I want to know how to run the oo flow using hcm and how add input properties which will be provided by user from MPP and map them as a inputs to oo flow.

I have added the OO as user actions and published the offereing and when run it from MPP i dont see any flow running.

When i run other offereings which are used by OO are running. Mean to say integration is working fine between OO and HCM.

The OO flow requires two input when i run the flow from OO, i want to how to handle them here when i run it from CSA. When i run the offereing from MPP i dont see any flow running in OO please guide.

CSA seems to use RHINO and as it seems HTTPClient is using Proxy config from csa.properties

try to set the below params in csa.properties (needs jboss restart as far as i know)

let us know if it works.... i didnt tested

I can give you some hints but CSA is not a frontend to start a flow. i would assume that communication test is a Lifecycle action that you would like to add to a Server component of CSA.

so is suggest you create a Resourceoffering for a Server Component in CSA and attach the flow to the User actions. (not in the lifecycle phases) then this shows up as action inside a service instance.

how to exchange data between OO and CSA i suggest you have a look into some existing capsules/flows that interact.

you have the new method to map input/output or the old one where you use CSA api with service component UUID to read and write data of a component.

Thanks for your answer, i am looking for CSA(HCM) - SA integration and i see there is capusle for SA-CSA integration using OO and i dont have VMware suite in out secnario.

I have created one test flow SA communication test this i have developed in OO and i am able to run the communication test from OO central console and i want to run the same from CSA MPP console, could you please help.

there is usually out of the box content for SA in a CSA installation. you should find some example resource offerings. and then you create a resource provider for SA and of you go.

you need to create an User on SA sight that has sufficent priveldeges. for a start and if you can use an admin.

as your question is quite broad it is hard to give a straight answer. if you are looking for doucmentation.... i dont have one out of the top of my head

I try to write a js script to catch dynamic properties from a URL.

I'm using the HTTP/S Client which is available and tried the follwing example from the dynamic properties white paper:

how did you created the Action on a component in the design or at a Resourceoffering?

i didnt tested but if the token can only be resolved when having the action bound in the Resource offering. otherwise CSA cant know to which Resource an action is meant to be related.

i am not sure, but i think cancel would work only for request still pending an approval. every request past this is already in "processing" so you have an subscription and need to cancel the subscription.

you would need to test with an approval policy and try to cancel those requests

Problem solved. The certificates were not the problem. It was the setting in the Vertica DB. I can finalize the Ansible Playbook now and set it correctly. Hooray!!! 🙂

We install a HCM2018.11 Ultimate with a customer. Vertica DB is installed and SSL enabled. CA certificate is stored in the NFS Share. However, we always get the following message when entering the Vertica data:

Certificate is not added to the truststore

How can I check if the CA certificate is stored correctly?

The installation description of Vertica also documents the creation of a client certificate. But how do I use the SSL client certificate for the HCM installation? Can I disable TLS as well? It's a test environment and actually we only want to work on automated deployment.

To develop 'traditional' (AFL/XML based) flows, OO Studio is needed. To create CloudSlang flows, can be used OO Web Designer for graphical environment, or just a text editor if only done on source code version.

But this open a much broader topic of CloudSlang vs AFL/traditional Studio, and is needed to be aware of the latest capabilities already included in CloudSlang (like use AFL based operations and subflows inside CloudSlang flows), usage scenario (developers already used to OO Studio or not)....

If looking for a yes/no answer about install Studio, is easier to just say 'yes' (but install on OO flow developer workstation, not on a server).

cancel a request in CSA

hi like to chekc how do i cancel a CSA request when in the MPP portal under "In the All Requests States filter, select Cancelable." i see 0 request but in my "pending list" it shows 18 request.

i am trying to check if there are option to udpate the DB to indicate the status of the REQUEST as CANCELLED.

How to move the CSA server from current domain to a new domain

1. Stop the CSA and MPP services.
2. Login to the server where CSA is installed.
3. Browse to \jboss-as\standalone\deployments\csa.war\WEB-INF\classes and edit csa.properties.
4. Change the value of the property csa.provider.hostname to the new FQDN.
5. Browse to \jboss-as\standalone\deployments\mpp.war and edit index.html
6. Change the value of the FQDN for the URL attribute in the meta-tag
7. Browse to \portal\conf and edit mpp.json.
8. Change the hostname used in the properties provider.url, idmProvider.url, idmProvider,returnUrl

AWS Provider Configuration - Cannot Create VM

Hello,

I configured the AWS Provider in HCM 2018.05 in order to do a Demo, and show how easy is to create a Vitual Machine on AWS.

I followed the official MF Video on Youtube, and the configuration went well :

The Synchronisation on OO was dont with success.

When I use this offering to create a VM, the VM is undeployed automaticaly, with the "Unsupported Conficuration Error". (The requested configuration is currently not supported. Please check the documentation for supported configurations.. Error code: Unsupported. )

I used out of the box AWS provider and configured as exaplained in the video.

Do I need to confogure something else, or are there some other AWS pre-requirements?

Were you also able to invoke the script with REST Client and using named parameters.

I tried calling:
/csa/propertysources/myScript.js?mytestparam=helloWorld

then in the script i had something like:

debug(request.mytestparam);

The input parameter would resolve when used in the service design test query, but appears request object is empty in rest client. Which makes my debug process with rest client very difficult, if i cant even parametise the scripts.

This can happen if there are duplicate users or organizations in CSA 4.7. In this case the duplicate users were in CSA and not in IDM.

Patch 3 can be applied to prevent this - but if this has occured then please contact support for a SQL script to help resolve the issue.

This can happen when CSA loses connectivity to IDM temporarily.

Using CSA API to update a subscription to recurring

Hi,

im using the API to manage the expiry of subscriptions in HPCSA (4.5). i am able to update a recurring subscription to one that expires by adding and property endDate to the subscription via the API. Certain subscriptions need to be overriden the other way around where a subscription has an endDate it needs to be updated to be recurring. does anyone know if this is possible to do via the API.

I have been configured showback reports in HCM, I created the provider Azure, I put the user ID and password, azure subscription ID, Azure tenat, billing EA access key, billing EA enrollment number and enable cloud billing integration and showback reports does not appears, I forget something else?
