How to Create a User in CSA and MPP

Hi,

I want to create a user in CSA Management Console and Marketplace portal. I don't have LDAP access and hence I'm going for a local user.

I followed following steps for user addition in CSA:

1. Logged in to CSA application server.

2. Encrypted password along with role with following command:

java -jar passwordUtil-standalone.jar encrypt <password>,CSA_ADMIN,enabled

Output of this command gave me an encrypted password.

3. Edited provider-users.properties file under path HPE\CSA\jboss-as\standalone\deployments\idm-service.war\WEB-INF\classes

Added a new user with following string:

myuser=ENC(<encrypted password given by above command>)

4. Save and tried login to CSA Management Console with user myuser.

I'm able to login to Management Console but getting attached error every-time I click any option under my left panel.

Am I missing anything here? Please help.

Also, please guide me on the MPP user creation as well.

We launch a lot of modifications on our subscriptions and a lot of them failed (normal 🙂 ).
We would like to cancel this last modifications automatically and we don't want to relaunch it or correct it.
We would like to launch another modification without correct last one and without error message.

Apply different expiration period in offering level

Consider the following Scenario - we intent to offer 2 services.

The first one is for Test server. This service should have expiration period of a month due to the nature of the developer work.

The second is for a Build server. This is a production server that must stay online for a year (or even more).

The full scenario is as following: "Need to use the read-only role with AD groups binding in CSA. This role must have read access to the Administration section of the CSA management console (like the CSA Administrator role) and not have permission to change the configuration."

Assignment of different roles for a user with several catalogs

End customer is requesting to have service catalogs assigned to a user (or user group) and needs to have a different role for every catalog.

Ex: "administrator" role for services in catalog A and only "operator" role for services in catalog B.

CSA/HCM Content Store - Access Manager Authentication

Earlier this year, Passport user accounts were migrated to Access Manager as part of the separation from HPE. However, ITOM Marketplace APIs such as the ones used in HCM/CSA Content Store were not able to make this migration and have continued to use Passport Credentials to authenticate. ITOM Marketplace Team announced last week the Access Manager support for all ITOM Marketplace APIs.

To update your credentials to Access Manager in Content Store, first create an Access Manager account here if you do not have one. If you access entitled software, you should also configure your entitlements and contracts in the My entitlements section here in MySupport. You can go to the Marketplace login page here and login using Access Manager to test your account if needed.

Please note Passport support will end August 30^th 2019, so please be sure to make this update before the end of the month to avoid interruptions.

HCM/CSA Content Store Configuration

To update your Content Store settings in HCM/CSA:

In the HCM/CSA Console Settings navigation frame, select Content Store.
Provide or update the following information:

Item	Description
User Name	The Micro Focus Access Manager account username.
Password	The password for the Access Manager username

Click Validate.

The validations pass/fail message appears at the top of the window.

Validation passed - the settings are all valid and the Content Store tile can be enabled.

Validation failed - one or more settings are not valid and the Content Store remains disabled.

If the validation fails, check the following:

You have access to the internet through the proxy information you provided.
Your Access Manager credentials are correct.
You have permission to access the CSA/HCM product page on the ITOM Marketplace.

Click Save when the configuration is validated to enable the Content Store tile.

Amazon Security Group information in MPP

Given that you are a user who want to order a machine at Amazon. You can choose your desired service and then you will be asked what security group you need. All you can see is the number of the security group but you cannot see the definition. There should be a way to display the definition of the security group in the MPP. The information are available at Amazon and they have an API for that but I think we don’t use it.

This is relevant also when you already ordered a machine and you cannot connect to it. We do not have the possibility to see any network related information. It seems that Flexera can do that.

Obviously, the security groups are only one example of many information available at the cloud provider. The reason behind that is, that users can order machines at HCM and do not require any login to the cloud provider. That means that we have to deliver these information.

Parallel Public actions in Customer portal (MPP)

Currently if a subscriptions has 3 or more VMs and user want to run an action to take snapshot of all the VMs same time, He cannot do it due to the limitation that action will run only on one VM and it will wait for this action to finish. Then only action on other VM can be started.

This behavior takes lo to of time for end user.

If user wants to do change CPU on one VM and change RAM on another VM of same subscription, he can't do it.

So the requirement is that HCM must provide the ability to execute the parallel public actions on multiple VMs within the subscription.

HCM CLI to support Public Actions

As per HCM and OO SAP Provisioning Content Release Notes, the content only supports S/4Hana deployments only up to version 1610. The latest versions out are 1709 and 1809 and must be supported as well. 1909 will be released in September 2019 and should then be supported as well.

Customers who want to install S/4HANA will always use the latest version because of enhancements and cumulative bug fixes from previous releases

Get Provider Properties and Resource Offering Properties in OO

When you make a breaking change to an OO flow that is already mapped to CSA and attempt to add that flow/action to another lifecylce step, you will get an "OO flow is out of sync with current actions" error. The fix involves deleting the existing actions, but this can be difficult when the action is mapped to several components. It would be nice to provide a way to show all of the flow mappings in CSA for a given OO flow to make resolving this issue easier. I have a database query to list everything, but that is not convenient for most users.

Content Store - Add an option in the UI to accept install of capsules that are not digitally signed

By default HCM/CSA Content Store doesn't allow installing capsules that aren't digitally signed. This is a good from security side but from usability perspective this is an issue as users don't always digitally sign their capsules. For example many community contributed capsules on ITOM Marketplace are not digitally signed.

A good ux improvement would be to display an warking/error when a capsule is not signed, user to acknowledge and to be able to proceed based on his risk assesment.

Currently, to publish any offering to a catalog, we go to the Publishing dailog. There only 1 catalog can be selected at a time. We think if the ability is provided to select multiple catalogs and then choosing a category and Approval policy for all of them, it would help cut down the time and hassle to select 1 catalog at a time and publish individually.

CSA needs an option to change the default behavior of all server builds in a server group being launched asynchronously. This really causes contention with accessing shared resources like IP Address Management, etc. The only way to work around this issue currently is to use semiphores which have their own issues.

There really should be a way to make server builds queue up in CSA and build serially. The server group components are processed serially, so it makes sense to give the option of having the server components build serially too.

It would also be nice if there was some sort of internal CSA property (i.e. SVC_Component_Instance) that corresponds to server build order so that if you need to process an operation on only the first server, or only the last server there was a way to track programatically which server number is currently being built.

OOTB OO flow to remove service component from subcription

the CSA Integration content back has a flow for adding a service component to a subscription (i.e. another server to a multi-vm subscription) but it does not have a flow for removing a service component from a subscription. users currently have to build this functionality manually using rest api.

It would be useful to have this feature for removing servers from a multi-vm subscription as part a user-operation.

Scale Component should let user choose which VMs to remove

CSA/HCM scale component currently only cares about final count of servers. That works great for scale out feature, but does not give user choice of which VMs to remove when scale in operation is performed. A lot of the time, users would want to choose which servers to remove so that you can better control how they are decommissioned. For example, users may need to drain specific server(s) before removing them from a loadbalancer, which would mean they need to be specific with which servers get destroyed.

Another approach to this challenge would be to create an OOTB user operation for remove server component that could be run individually on a per server basis. This would already know which service component to remove since it would appear as one of the user operations for a given server. And it could behavie similarly to the scale component in that it automatically follows the deprovision lifecycle flows.

Offer Azure/AWS consumption report for customer in Marketplace

CSA UI - group ownership always on

Our customer has got a principle - each subscription should have an onwer group. But, sometimes user forget to choose this group.

My suggestion is to add configuration parameter 'groupOwnershipIsAlwaysRequired', or something like that. If it is true, every time user orders a subscription, the 'group ownership' flag is always on. He could, if he want, unselect group ownership and order susbcription without group - but, by default, he should choose owner group.

This configuration parameter may be global parameter, or on organization-level parameter, or in catalog-level parameter - all options will be helpful.

To be clear, I attach some screenshots 'what is now', and 'what we want'.

I have added the OO as user actions and published the offereing and when run it from MPP i dont see any flow running.

When i run other offereings which are used by OO are running. Mean to say integration is working fine between OO and HCM.

Default Subscription expiry control from Offering level apart from existing Organization level

Problem :

There are multiple teams from a Organization consuming HCM and definetly having a common expiry date across all the offerings within the organization will not be practically working for a Enterprise customer.

Requirement :

HCM needs to enable an option to over-ride the Default Subscription Expiry date from the offering level , if a value is set else not, pick the expiry values set in the Organization level

Use Case Example:

Some Offerings needs to be restricted to just 1 week max subscription period due to more resource consumption. And some offerings needs to be restricted to max 1 year. And if we set 1 week max subscription period with current functionality , end-user with the need for 1 year subscription will need to go through extention process for subcription. So, we need to have micro level control via Offerings created to over-ride this system-wide settings.

So, System Wide Settings can be left with 1 year max period and offering level control will allow to user to restrict the max period to lower number of days.

I'm using the HTTP/S Client which is available and tried the follwing example from the dynamic properties white paper:

However for js there are only certain classes allowed and none of them offers functionality of CSAIntegrationDelegate class. Can you please advise what is recommended way to access csa.api from js. Preferred solution should fit following requirements: 1) No csa host/hosts entering to scripts / additional configs (similar to our previous solution). 2) No credentials in script if possible. We use the current solution for js is using HTTPClient.call class but that does violate both of requirements. If there is no solution available, it is possible to get CSAIntegrationDelegate to /rhino/extensions/ similar to CSAIntegrationHelper.class? We have researched the subject, it seems that's the way JS works, so we are not sure we have alternative to the HttpURLConnection class in java

We had multiple issues with Search Service which resulted in situations where subscriptions or offerings that have been changed or deleted doesnt get updated in elastic search anymore Scenario ES or MSVC down or not working correctly Workaround Delete index and reset posted in ES status Unacceptable Takes long time to rebuild index and potentially not 100% supported Design details: Best would be that CSA keeps a queue of changes to pushed to ES to keep track of any updates that need to still go to ES. Aditionally a Resync button should allow an admin to trigger CSA to validate Index vs. Real world scenario and additionaly a Hard rebuild index Button should be introduces to allow a rebuild if nothing else works.

we using a list of failed and successful subscriptions using -xpath query //ServiceRequest/requestStatus/name. Currently in CSA,when cancel is kicked off, the CancelSubscriptionActionDelegateImpl.executeAction is called. In this method, before submitting the request to fulfillment layer, we set the service request status like this: serviceRequestService.setServiceRequestStateAndStatus(requestVO.getId(), RequestStateEnum.COMPLETED, RequestStatusEnum.SUCCESS); basically the requestStatus depends on the callback which would envoke either CancelSubscriptionActionDelegateImpl.onCancelFailure or .onCancelSuccess in the first case we set the RequestStatus : updateRequestStatus(lastServiceRequest, RequestStateEnum.COMPLETED, RequestStatusEnum.FAILURE) and if succesful updateRequestStatus(lastServiceRequest, RequestStateEnum.COMPLETED, RequestStatusEnum.SUCCESS); so the presumption is that if the cancel is succesful , as in your case then that variable would be set to succes , otherwise if the cancel fails, only then the requestStatus should be Failure. We would like a more 'fine grained' status of the cancelled subscription statuses : Design details: It should be possible to identify whether an initial order request for a subscription failed and was never successful. As soon as the Initial order request was successful and the Service is available the status should be "SUCCESS" (I think that's how it is at the moment) When a failed subscription couldn't be resumed successfully and then canceled the status should be "FAILURE" and not "Success" as it is at the moment (the operator cancels the failed subscription manually and the status they get is 'success').

This must allow selection of multiple different Options to be selected as linked elements. By default the result evaluation should apply a logical OR . It should be possible to define a custom logic rule. e.g. ((option 1 AND(xoption2 OR xoption3 OR xoption4)) OR Option 2) it also should be possible to select Boolean properties as another input criteria into the evaluation.

When flow is set to pause operators should have option to resume it. When set to error operators should have option to resubmit it. Additionally there is problem with cancelation. When resubmitted it will not execute last failed event but continue from next one that means actions from failed flow will never have a chance to succeed. Design details: We are facing with constant issues and customer pressures because of logic how modify and cancelation phases are handled. Current situation: When event fail in both of those phases and flows are set to fail on error, subscription will stop on customer side with action to resubmit cancelation or modification. So our ops will eventually fix what was wrong with background infrastructure but then they need to bother customer with resubmit modify or cancelation. This is logically wrong from our perspective because customer cannot fix anything himself and that means he is not driver for resubmit those actions to try again. Additionally it can happen that customer will resubmit modification for example without notify from us. And when operation did not cleanup and fixed all already flows will be triggered again aiming to failure and creating more mess and work for operations.

Suggestion is to start by separate in the Provider Org into Master ADmins ->can access content of all And Project Groups -> All content of members of the Project group is shared/changeable within the Groups Certain Content like ResourceOfferings must be made "Public" -> this means they can be used by every Group in Service Designs but only changed by Owner Group 2 (Prio) allow multitenancy at Management portal. or transport Service Design function to Tenant MPPs Keep the concept of Provider Organization but allow customer Organizations to build own Designs and Offerings (extend the Customer Organization Admin concept) This must ensure that Tenant Organization can only see/use REsource Offerings that the provider Org has given (shared) with the Tenant Organizations. Service Designs and offerings that are not shared with Tenant Organization for editing must not be changeable by tenant. This does not apply to the Service Provider Organization creating and Publishing Offerings to a tenant. Scenario we as service provider are working with a lot of teams on CSA. different teams produce different modules. we need to work on same instance as this allow sharing better and save resources. as well as we need to test against same interfacing systems. we can not develop on isolated systems For the second Prio topic we have customers that would like to build theire own Application Designs using our Resource Offerings we provided as Service Provider on the same platform where we deliver our services to the customer

Benefits / Value:
Support that even for Updates it is suggested to stop Both Nodes of a clustered CSA environment. We want to be able to Upgrade/Update the Portal and Controller clusters without downtime impact the enviroments. There must be a described update path that allows Controllers in a certain version to Work with MPPs in a different version while upgrading/updating. Controllers must be possible to upgrade/update one node while the other node is still running and serving customers in older Version.
Design details:
Enterprise enviroment needs to be always up and running

RO 'Provider's Override' Dialog box when updating Service Offering

Benefits / Value:

Lets say you have configured a Resource Offering which uses Provider Type with more than one Providers in it. Then you create Service Design&Service Offering and remove the unwanted Provders , so that there is only 1 provider mapped to that Resource Offering. When you then update another Service Offering that uses that Resource Offering, it fetches the information from the DB and overwrites the 'Providers' section in that Resource Offering so that it has the default number of Providers , as specified in the Provider Type, because of this a deployment fails if they chose the wrong one.

Design details: My suggestion is to create a dialog box on each Service Offering update that will override the Providers section with checkbox "Yes" and "No".
