Network Devices are not discovering (attributes details) in UCMDB tool.

Checked with MF support team they have updated if device vendor has standard MIB files then some possibilities to get discover the devices.

Device vendor has private MIB only so kindly suggest how we can get discover the devices.

Tagging Users and Content in Your Post

You probaby know you can tag a user like @COEST but now, when you type the "@" sign, you can also start typing in content like titles to other articles to link directly to them. If you start typing and scroll down the suggestions box, besides users, there is now a section for content. If you click on one of those it will insert the content link into your post like this when I do an @ sign at start typing "Fiscal" (@fiscal) it gives me some options. I choose one and it inserts the link into the post like this:

It's a way to easily tag people and link to other community content. Give it a try.

I usually see that if someone copies/pastes from a word processor like program that puts hidden codes in the text. The reason it errors out multiple times is that it sees the first problem, fixes it, next problem, fixes it, etc. etc. Make sure you're posting plain text without any hidden formatting characters because our system won't allow it. Another possibility is if you edit the post using the HTML editing tool and add your own HTML. Our system only allows certain HTML. If you're not doing either of those, let me know

When I am submitting an idea, it says "there is some invalid HTML in the body and we have corrected that, please try again". But, still when try to submit, it pops up with the same error again and again.

Even when I am replying to you know, it displays the same error, but here after trying again multiple times, I am able to reply. This isn't the same case when I am submitting the idea.

Jim Henderson started working with computer networks in 1989 at a small university in Daytona Beach, Florida. Jim, a programmer of many years, wrote several utilities to customize the NetWare environment for the academic computer lab.

Joe Doupnik

Joe Doupnik is currently based within Computer Services of the University of Oxford in England where he works on research and development issues concerned with Novell Operating Systems and associated software. Much of his time is spent assisting Novell with their beta testing programs in the Open Enterprise Server and SLES environments and more direct work with teams on problems of mutual interest. He is also part of MindworksUK, a company which specializes in technical education and events related primarily to Novell’s products.

Prior to moving to Oxford Joe was Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Utah State University. He taught undergraduate systems and networking courses, amongst other subjects, and detailed networking and operating system internals at the graduate level.

Prof Doupnik has been involved with computer networking and communications for over twenty years. A few note he helped design the NASA Science Internet when networking was new. He has managed computer systems large and small for three decades and has used them since the venerable IBM 650.

His primary areas of expertise in IT are networking, operating systems, applications related to them, protocols, even device drivers. A theme running through them is making the apparatus work for us, and making it work better than before. For some years he has done extensive beta testing of major products with Novell and others, and works behind the scenes with organisations on techniques. He is one of the three founding members of the Novell Technology Transfer Partners (TTP) organization which for nearly 25 years couples selected academic sites with Novell engineers on technology issues.

He has used Unix since the mid-70's and has an original AT&T source code license. He has made many contributions to open source software as well as closed projects. Some recall him as the author of the best known open source MS-DOS Kermit communications program, which today is running on the International Space Station.

In public he gives varied courses on networking related material, operating systems internals, and even a course on writing Linux device drivers. He supports managers through listserver and similar mechanisms, and he does consulting. A decade of developing and managing a large student open computer lab has taught him a lot about human factors and systems behavior, and it persists to this day with his daily interaction with many systems managers around the world.

His technical training is in Electrical Engineering and Space Physics, with MSc and PhD from Penn State University funded mostly by NASA. He has worked in the field of ionospheric physics for many years and has a long list of publications and activities in that area. Today he, like many, is exploiting computer systems to do interesting things for people.

John is a LAN Administrator for Kenworth of Tennessee, a truck reseller located at various locations throughout Tennessee. A Support Connection Volunteer Sysop since June, 2003, John has been working with Netware since 1989, when he first cracked the box open on Netware 3.11 for a custom hardware/software project for a major appliance manufacturer. Since then, he's worked with Netware 2.2, 4.x, 5.x, and 6, as well as Cisco routers, AS/400s, Windows of every flavor, and various distributions of Linux. If pressed, he will admit he still knows i386 and z80 assembler code, Basic, Fortran, Foxpro, and Turbo Pascal, but his current affectations are Perl and Delphi, when time permits.

The Micro Focus Community ties into the Micro Focus single sign-on system which allows customers and users to use one account to login to multiple Micro Focus systems.

SIGNING IN PROCESS EXPLAINED:

When you select "Sign In" from the Community site, you're taken out of the community application to the Micro Focus Login system which handles your login credentials and account information. Once you login there, the system brings you back to the Community as a verified and logged in user.

CREATING AN ACCOUNT:

When you are on the login page, select "Create an Account"

Fill out the CREATE ACCOUNT form. Your security question/answer can be used to reset your password later, if necessary. Be sure to leave the Anti-SPAM field blank, then click the CREATE LOGIN button at the bottom.

You will then be taken to a successful account creation page. Pay particular attention to the information about validating your email and please, validate your email before attempting to login to the community site or you will not be able to access the community without clearing an unvalidated session cookie. Once you've validated your email address, press the CONTINUE button:

At that point, you'll be taken back to the login page where you can now sign into the Community with the account you just created where you'll be prompted to select a "Screen Name". This screen name must be unique in the community and will display on any post you create in the Community.

Once you've entered your desired screen name, click SUBMIT and you'll be taken back to the Community site as a verified and logged in user. From that point on, when you visit the Micro Focus Community site and click SIGN ON, you can just enter your login ID and password and be good to go.

NOTE: Your login ID and Password are not stored on the community site. Micro Focus login uses a token to pass to the Community software to sign you in.

thanks for your comment. These are simply recommendations. Japanese customers can submit their requests in Japanese. If preferred, they can ask an employee to submit on their behalf to have their Idea posted in English in order to reach a larger audience who can comment and vote.

We just strongly recommend that MF employees not vote for Ideas. Instead they should encourage customers to vote themselves.

10. How do I follow or subscribe to the ideas I am interested in?

You can manage your Subscriptions & Notifications under your profile settings in – My Subscriptions. There are various options to subscribe to new topics, replies to your posts, etc.

11. Can Micro Focus employees submit and vote on ideas?

Micro Focus employees can submit ideas. If you are entering an idea, remember to use your MF email address, remove any customer identifying information, follow the submission guidelines, and keep comments external facing.

If Micro Focus employees submit an idea on behalf of a customer, please ask the customer to vote on the idea so we know the customers that are interested and the customer should also subscribe to changes so they’re alerted of the progress.

Micro Focus employees are not recommended to vote on ideas, as we would like to understand the community interest rather than internal. Micro Focus votes have lower weight as compared to customer votes so it is always advisable to customers to vote themselves.

12. What are the vote threshold criteria, 1 company 1 vote or 1 user 1 vote?

Every user can vote once on every idea posted. But if the idea passed the vote threshold only because one company had many votes and/or internal votes, moderators may re-consider the common value of this idea, as votes is for the community to find out ideas with common values.

13. Will all top voted ideas be accepted and planned?

We cannot guarantee that. All ideas with high community support (votes) will be assessed for alignment to the product roadmap.

Idea Exchange Overview

Idea Exchange is the crowdsourcing platform where customers submit ideas, vote on them, and collaborate with peers to improve and innovate Micro Focus products.

Your ideas are important to us and we take them seriously. Before you get started, make sure you review the following:

Search the community: Before submitting a new idea, always look for existing submissions.
Draft your idea: To help everyone else in the community really understand what you’re suggesting, explain your idea in detail. Include the rationale and perceived value. The more we know about your idea - who it’s for, what the motivation is, and what the actual item is, the more accurate we’ll be when it comes time to prioritize and size it.

Essential elements for every submission:

Brief Description: Briefly describe your idea
Benefits/Value: Explain why is this important? (When used, by which role, and benefits/value)
Design details: Explain how would you like this idea designed/implemented

And finally, don’t forget to fulfill your civic duty and VOTE for those items you like and agree with by giving the idea a Like/Vote/Kudos.

I studied computer science in my home city Linz. During my work at the university local area networks became my focus; at that time I installed one of the first Novell networks in Austria (NetWare V4.6, hardware from Novell! based on Motorolla 68000). So my relation with Novell started around 1985.

Before running my own business I gained some experience at other companies. I did a lot of examinations to obtain different certifications for CNE, CNI and MCNE. Around 1995 I started with GroupWise - which hits the bull's eye. Since that time GroupWise is my main interest and money maker. But somehow GroupWise was not enough to communicate and to collaborate. Vibe stepped in to fill the gap. Vibe is the origin for other products: Filr and Teamworks. And finally Gwava products became part of the collaboration family. Of course communication without mobility is not possible. So all these products around communication and collaboration are my business focus.

I like communities. So I founded a community for GroupWise in Austria with Novell Austria's help. These small and very successful activities in Austria convinced some more guys in Europe to do same. GroupWise & Friends, GroupWiseR and finally Open Horizons were successors - I am still part of the Open Horizons management team.

Sometimes there is life outside of GroupWise. So I have a wonderful family with two lovely daughters. I like to hear music but not a special genre. Being very sportive in younger days it turned out sitting in front of computers is not the best for ones weight. So I started to run to lose weight which I still do - and have to do 😉

1. Does Idea Exchange replace the current Enhancement Request (ER) process through Support?
Yes. We ask that you log all ideas in Idea Exchange. Our Tech Support team can assist if need be, but the goal is that you submit your ideas so that we know who suggested the idea and how to connect with you.

2. What will happen to the ERs currently in SSO (Software Service Online)?
For ERs already committed to customers, they will continue on the release roadmap. They may or may not be moved into Idea Exchange. Product Managers will review the current ERs and select ideas to seed idea Exchange. For the remaining ERs, we will make them inactive in SSO and not migrate to Idea Exchange. If you do not see your ER and would like it to be considered, please log it in the Idea Exchange.

3. Do I need to resubmit my previously logged Enhancement Request (ER)?
Product Managers have reviewed the existing list of ERs and have populated Idea Exchange with some of the most common requests – take a look and support your favorites (with votes). If you don’t see your #1 idea you may want to add it to see what the rest of the community thinks about it.

4.   Will the product team respond to every idea?
Every idea will get a preliminary review, strictly for adherence to the submission guidelines. You can use the search bar at the top of the page. Otherwise, while in a forum like Fortify, you can view the tag cloud (right side) and click on a tag to filter with it. We also have labels in that forum you can filter by, and one of them is Webinspect. The only way I know of to search for two tags simultaneously is to use the search bar at the top of the page.

I currently work at Ceska sporitelna as a system engineer and tool specialist. In this position I was responsible mainly for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM now from Micro Focus).

The ALM live started in 2006, when we selected HP Quality Center Version 9 (instead of IBM Rational ClearQuest) and then upgrade to Version 10 in 2010. In 2013 to Version 11 and in 2017 to Version ALM 12, it was a big task because I coordinate a lot of departments to work together. The big change was also moving from physical servers to vmWare.

I am now responsible for administration servers, developing, testing, and installation of new versions, user trainings, and whole support of this tool. These tools are used by 300 people per day in average.

I also work with Jira from Atlassian for smaller projects. I customized it for company need.

I am certified IBM Rational ClearQuest 2003 and have technical knowledge of the follwoign products:

Mute all notifications for specific forum discussions

From time to time, a particular forum post/thread can get lots of activity. So much, in fact, that some members can get inundated with activity notifications (for edits, replies, messages). When this happens, you can now opt to mute the thread temporarily or permanently.

To mute notifications on a particular thread:

Sign in to the community and go to the thread you want to mute.
Open the Options menu and click Mute:
To restore notifications on this thread, open the Options menu again and click Unmute.

Members can easily review and manage all their muted items from their "My Subscriptions" page:

Sign in to the community and go to My Settings.
Click Subscriptions & Notifications.
On the My Subscriptions tab, click Manage Muted Items.
In the list of muted items, click Delete (trashcan icon) for each thread you’d like to unmute.

- that is just rediculously painful. In the old Cool Solutions site, we could easily update articles as required, having to progress though this manual step with the high chance of changes not being correct is really not fit for purpose.

There just appears to be no point in publishing any further articles if this is going to be the future of the site.

Whenever I get an notification of changes for the Idea Exchange, I click on the link and I get to the Idea Exchange page. By default, it goes to the end of the page, showing the Leave a Comment box but my intention is to read the latest change to the Idea or from the start again. Can the default be changed to take user to the top of the page instead of the end of the page showing the comment box? It's a pain to scroll to the top of the page if you have several notifications per day.

When in a user discussion forum you often want to only see the topics or posts you haven't already seen. When viewing the topic list, you can tell which topics have new content by the small speach bubble which appears on the left side of the topic subject:

Also, on the right side of the user discussion forum there is now a box showing topics (and replies) you haven't read yet:

FYI You can get a list of all topics or messages that are unread (for you).

Still one of my favorites and I still believe that Ciff introduced a lot of Security-Stuff we are using today.

I have been working with ArcSight Software-Products since 2012 and started my journey with ArcSight ESM 5.2.

I learned a lot from reading posts in the community. Many times I stumbled across solutions to my problems that were written by my colleague Volker Michels. He always had already been "there" and found a solution. This created a "force" in me to also share my knowledge with the community and save my thoughts and solutions - not everything in ArcSight is as perfect as I wished, and so tweaks and tricks were sometimes needed to convince the software to do what I want.

After almost 7 years working with ArcSight some knowledge has faded, so I sometimes stumble across my own forum posts - in this situation I am happy that my knowledge was saved for future use - for me and others.

Account and/or Login issues?

Because of company consolidations and mergers, Micro Focus has been consolidating communities from various places into this single site. That included moving user accounts. Sometimes account problems arise. Read on:

If this is the first time you have tried to login since the switch to the new login system or the migration of another community site, follow these instructions:
- You need to create a new Micro Focus single sign-on login account HERE if you don't already have one. The following steps are important:
  - Use the same email address used in the old site, or your accounts won't synchronize and we'll have to do some work to get it straightened out for you.
  - Be sure that, after you create your account, you verify your email address before trying to access the community or you will get an error that your email is still unvalidated and you'll have to clear your "microfocus"cookies to get in after your email address is validated. (If your old email address is no longer valid, contact us (link below) and we can manually validate and get it updated for you.)
  - If you want your login ID to match your community display name, make sure the login ID is the same
  - In some cases, your login ID may already be taken in which case you'll need to use another login ID. It's not a problem. It doesn't have any impact on what your display name is, just your login process.
- If you are a legacy Cool Solutions (WordPress) or Micro Focus Forums (vBulletin) user, you shouldn't have to create a new account, but because we matched migrated accounts up with SSO IDs you need to ensure you login with the same credentials used in the legacy systems.
If you keep getting prompted to verify your email address even after you verified it:
- It's likely because your first login attempt to the community was with an unverified account which set your session cookie. Usually closing and reopening your browser fixes it. If not, clear your "community.microfocus.com" cookies.

Anders, a Knowledge Partner since 1998, is a consultant working for a small consulting company in Scandinavia. After passing the matriculation examination in 1978 at Ålands Lyceum, he received a B.Sc. (eng) from Tekniska Läroverket i Helsingfors, Finland 1983. He became the ninth Finnish CNE in 1992, and is currently a CNI (Certified Novell Instructor). He became a Compaq ASE in 1996. In July 1999, he was awarded the title Eur. Ing. from FEANI.

Anders founded the company "Rox" in 1984, together with Peter Granholm. In 1996, Rox had 6 full-time employees, and a turnover of approximately 1.5 million pounds (10 million FIM), and was the only Novell Gold Reseller in the Åland area. He started with NetWare in the 1.02-days and has had experience with most Novell-related product families: OS, eDir, Web-based, Collaboration.

Over time, Anders grew tired of moving boxes, and Peter and Anders sold Rox and founded the company Pedago Ab. Pedago Ab is a company focused on three areas: Advanced Communications and Network Consulting, Education, and programming. Pedago currently has 3 employees.

Anders has authored several Novell AppNotes, other magazine articles, and has been a speaker at the Finnish CNE-Summits and Novell's BrainShare Conference in Salt Lake City.

Andy has always loved building things (including the necessary demolition to make more). While trying to get into the Civil Engineering field at one of the worst times to do so, he ended up falling into IT. Before long Andy was working at a Systems Integrator that became a Novell Platinum partner. In 2009 he transitioned to creating Konecny Consulting Inc. with his partner, a documenter, project manger, bookkeeper, & trainer.

My professional COBOL career began in the summer of 1968, when I was a summer intern at Ford Division, Ford Motor Company, where I was involved in the conversion of the dealer financial reporting system from Autocoder to IBM 360 COBOL. This was a really interesting job, with the awe inspiring sight of (quite literally) acres of 360/30s running in 1401 emulation mode, a high-end 360 system running 24/7 in an attempt to emulate the parts distribution system in almost real time, and even a trip to the engineering center where GE computers were in use to design cars. It was also Denny McLain's magic 31-win season; my boss and his boss took me twice to afternnon games, treating me to box seats.

After a few months in grad school at Berkeley, waiting for the job market to improve, I got simultaneous offers from HP and Texas Instruments, for almost identical salary amounts. The cost of living difference led me to Texas in 1973, where I lived until 2017. I worked on TI's Advanced Scientific Computer, on the operating system. After a couple years, I moved to the TI990 project, first to work on an 'operating system' for a TMS9900-based self-contained computer (contained in a Silent 700, actually). After this, I became the TI technical liaison to Ryan-McFarland Corporation (RMC), which had landed the contract for COBOL, Fortran, and Basic compilers for the DX-10 operating system. In this role, I got to write a lot of code (RMC technology used an OS interface layer which was provided by the computer vendor) and travel back to California.

In 1976, I left TI to work for the University of Texas on the support staff of the academic computing facility, mostly doing operating system work, but I also got awarded responsibility for maintaining the accounting and billing system which was implemented in Fortran. After about two years at UT, the phone rang. It was my former boss at TI, who was now at RMC, offering me a chance to move to California and work for RMC. Having just purchased a house, I knew there was no way I could take the offer and afford a house in southern California, so I turned him down. A couple weeks later, the phone rang again, and the offer was now to be the first Texas employee of RMC. I took that offer.

I worked for Ryan-McFarland/Liant since 1978, with two short jobs ‘on the outside’, one as a COBOL development manager for one of Liant’s major customers and the other with Motorola helping develop open and proprietary software strategies during the development of the 88000 RISC processor.

During my tenure with Liant I was the lead developer on RM/COBOL (1985 version), VP Development, led the VAR sales channel, and a principal developer for Relativity, Business Information Server, and other products. Beginning in 2005 I managed customer support and technical services (consulting and presales), and assumed responsibility for consolidating Liant's various case management and bug tracking tools to Salesforce.

In 2008, Liant was acquired by Micro Focus, and I joined the Customer Support group. I was later offered an opportunity to manage a development group in Austin.

In 2013, I accepted an offer to help Hill Country Software (HCSS) prepare for the next generation of law enforcement and court management software. HCSS was an early adopter of Business Information Server to provide a browser based user interface for its application. Moving from a mostly Web 1.0 UI to a hosted application involves many opportunities to apply XML based technologies to a robust application. I also developed the integration of eFileTexas (cloud-based court filings) into the HCSS CMS application. In late 2016, HCSS was acquired and I retired from salaried employment.

I continue a limited consulting practice specializing in integrating legacy COBOL applications to other technologies, especially web services and other XML-based technologies. I also provide services to RM/COBOL customers in upgrading and adapting data modernization tooling, particularly Relativity, and in tooling to assist application refactoring.

Massimo Rosen, a Novell Support Connection Volunteer (NSCV) SysOp since June 2000, is a networking consultant and CNE since 1993. While working as employee for several IT companies from 1991 to 2000, he co-planned, designed, and troubleshot some of Germany's biggest Novell Directory Services (NDS) installations, consisting of around 30,000 users.

Before moving to the US, Malcolm worked in the telecommunications industry since 1984 in manufacturing and Quality Assurance before moving into the support area in 2002 as a System Administrator for various network management systems running Solaris and linux.

Lothar works at IS4IT, a consulting firm in the Munich region. His focus is on Identity Management, but likes to think he can pretty much do anything else, if needed. Including to fly. Flying is not just for the birds!

Lothar started "working" with computers in the mid-80s when his high school bought the first couple of Basis 108 machines (64K RAM + two CPUs!) and to everyone's surprise granted students unsupervised access to them in their spare time. Somehow, it took another 15 years until he finally found someone willing to pay him to help cleaning up after the Millenium Bug (which luckily did not exist, after all). Since then Lothar has worked primarily in the Client and Identity Management areas, building solutions based on Novell/NetIQ software starting out with ZFD 3.2 and IDM 2.0.

In real life, Lothar likes flying para gliders and cooking a lot.

In 1995 I started with NetWare 3.12 and obtained CNA and CNE in NW 3.12. I Worked for a local computer company (Computers Etc) and was fortunate enough to transfer to another company before they went bankrupt. I Obtained NetWare 4.x CNE with Realtech Systems Corporation doing business with local private and public sector in Albany, NY. I went to a lot of Novell bootcamps (ah, the good old days) with BorderManager, ZEN, etc. I Got to experience the fun and joy of migrating/upgrading GroupWise 4.1a on IBM OS/2 (OS-who? Did you say?) to GroupWise 5.5 on NetWare 4.11 for a large government agency. About the time that the .dot com bubble was just about ready to burst, I transferred companies again (before Realtech Systems went bankrupt) to another local company called Data Systems Networking Corporation. I achieved Master CNE status in Messaging, Intranet (BorderManager I think), and a third area.

I think I took every ZEN ATT that was offered (when Jason Blackett was still teaching). I started on an initial 2-week gig at the New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation (aka: Encon) to create a new Windows NT 4.0 Domain and link NDS to it via NDS for NT. From there, apparently I did such a good job, that we rolled out ZEN 3.2 and GroupWise 5.5 EP.

The Data Systems Corp was bought/merged 3 times and we became DynTek, dealing primarily with Albany NYS agencies. I expanded my skillset from NetWare, GroupWise, and ZENworks to McAfee VSE and McAfee EPO, along with Citrix MetaFrame/Winframe, and Presentation Server. I assisted with migrating NDS for NT then on to Novell Account Management and then to IDM (DirXML).

As time wore on, I continued to "bleed red" and was forced (haha) into learning SLES for OES2. I added some iChain and NAM to even out the mix and shake well.

I'’ve dealt with IBM, HP, and Dell servers; Xiotech SAN gear; and random other bits of hardware.

A few things to know about me on a personal level:

I like to think I’'m always right (even though I know I’m not)—haha. I don’t hate anyone and can’'t stay mad for more than a day (which could be a guy thing). I will ALWAYS do what’'s in the best interest of the customer regardless of vendor loyalty. I'm willing to help others to avoid any mistakes I may have made or come across, and like to learn/play with new things.

Kevin is a Senior IT Consultant with a background in hardware, software, and communications. At age sixteen he got his amateur radio license and immediately began teaching Morse code and radio theory to other students. In 1965 he got a job with an airline servicing computers used to fly the airline's flight simulators. These were analog computers whose amplifiers used vacuum tubes. The work was interesting but he had a lot more fun flying the simulators.

A couple of years later, Kevin was introduced to his first digital computer. This was a Ferranti-Packard computer with 64 KB of core memory and built with leaky germanium transistors so ones and zeros were never really ones and zeros but always something in-between. Sometimes, when a one or a zero wasn't what it was supposed to be, it wasn't the hardware... someone had made a coding error. This was Kevin's introduction to programming.

A few years later he transferred to the data processing department where he only lasted about a year as a programmer before he was promoted to the systems group as a junior systems programmer. Alas, that position only lasted about six months when his boss quit. Once again he was reassigned and at age twenty five found himself as the systems programming supervisor responsible for maintaining the airline's two IBM System/360 Model 50 computers.

In 1975 he left the airline and started his career as a consultant. Over the next fifteen years, primarily in large enterprises, Kevin undertook a series of engagements dealing with all aspects of application development and database design/support. In 1990 he began to focus more on small businesses becoming a reseller and Novell business partner. It was during this period that he gained experience with NetWare, GroupWise and BorderManager. He was introduced to Linux about the time that SLES 10 first appeared.

Kevin likes to read both fiction and non-fiction - including software documentation. He especially enjoys the Micro Focus website because of its endless supply of systems and program documentation. Other interests include photography/Photoshop, classical music, theatre, and wine - the kind you drink rather than the one that runs on your computer.

Calgary is about an hour's drive from Banff and when time permits he still enjoys a day of skiing in the Canadian Rockies.

Joakim graduated from Stockholm University in 1995 and went directly to a job teaching NetWare 4.10, even though he had never heard of the product or the company before. He spent 3 months in the classroom before taking the CNI exam and beginning to teach. His focus at that time was NetWare 4.10 with NDS and later ZENWorks and BorderManager.

In 1999 he switched to consulting for a small company in Stockholm that had a clear NDS focus. After a few unsuccessful mergers he started his own company, Accept IT, in 2003 with a total focus on Identity Manager.

Currently he has no time for any other products and tries to hang out in the IDM forums as much as possible. Working as a single consultant, the forum is as close to having colleagues as it gets for Joakim.

In 2014 he founded a new company, B-IQ, together with three other senior consultants so the workload could be spread, and other products from NetIQ, Novell and SUSE (now a part of Micro Focus) could be handled in a better way.
