automatically update process flow

Hi! We are setting up a release process flow where we have several manual actions. In our process, we need to have quality gates that check whether the phase of the manual actions has changed to 'completed'. I am struggling with this, as it relies on manually changing the status via user input.

The ideal situation is if the status of the quality gates changes automatically when various manual actions are completed.

As an example, we want when 14215 and 14219 are 'completed', the status of 14221 should change automatically, instead of manual updating.

    Sajid, hello.

As you probably understand, all stages in the process are executed sequentially, so you need to complete the First Phase in order to start the execution of the Second Phase.

Is it possible for items from the Cards group to be skipped? Or is the only possible outcome for them to eventually become completed?

Could you please explain more about the quality gate you mentioned here? When can such a gate be considered completed, failed, or skipped? Do you really need this quality gate as part of your process? What criteria are you checking before deciding on it? Are you using the quality gate just as an indication of what happened within the process?

The final decision on the quality gate you mentioned would only be possible when the Second Phase becomes In Progress. In order to achieve this, you should be able to finish all items in the First Phase.

Please try to check the functionality of the Query Criterion. Will it help you assume that as an item type, you would be able to select Process Items? This won't automatically mark a certain Quality Gate as Completed, but the status of the Query Criterion would be updated automatically.

    Dear Yuri,

I appreciate you want too help us, and need more information for that.

As you might already know, our process is composed of several sequential stages. While it's true that Quality Gates aren't an absolute necessity, they could add a layer of efficiency and control in tracking the progress of certain tasks, specifically within the completion of the First Phase leading to the Second Phase.

Let me provide an example to elaborate on my thoughts: consider a hypothetical Quality Gate, QG75. The function of QG75 would be to verify that tasks CS 001 and PS 210 have reached the "completed" status. The status of task CS 002, on the other hand, wouldn't impact the outcome of QG75. Currently, this Quality Gate's status would need to be manually updated by us.

However, ideally, we would prefer if the status of QG75 could be automatically updated once tasks CS 001 and PS 210 are marked as completed. I believe this level of automation would significantly enhance our process efficiency and accuracy.

This brings me to the Query Criterion functionality that you've mentioned. Would it be possible to configure it in such a way that it helps us to automatically update the status of certain Quality Gates based on the completion of the associated tasks? For instance, if tasks CS 001 and PS 210 reach completion, the Query Criterion could automatically change the status of QG75 to completed.

I understand this may not be a standard use of Query Criterion, but based on your understanding of the system, do you think it could be possible? I would appreciate your insights or any alternatives you could suggest.

Thank you for your time and assistance.
