LoadRunner Professional 2023 R1 has now been released

by   in DevOps Cloud

Hello there

It is with great pleasure that I announce that today we have just released version 2023 R1 for the full LoadRunner family.

The team has once again delivered a superb release with many exciting features and customer driven enhancements.
To give a brief overview of these:

We now store and persist the location and size of the following UI:

- Output Messages
- Transactions
- Run Time Settings
- License Utility
- Certificate Manager

This will now allow our customers to setup the controller workspace to accommodate the user experience required.

Another great new feature is the Run scenario by number.

This feature will now allow our customers to add new scenario type which will provide the ability to add more than one load generator to a group so that the Vusers will be distributed using the same mechanisms from percentage mode. This will allow you to extend the current capability to   create more complex scenario types and will provide more choices at design time.

Another great new feature is the SLA for APDEX.
We have Introduced Service Level Agreements for the APDEX - Application Performance Index.  APDEX is a universal measurement of application performance and now we can easily track this via SLA controls. This was a customer driven enhancement and it's great to provide  customers with more flexibility when defining goals for the load test scenario

As we continue our update and modernization effort we are pleased to announce an update to the online charting capabilities.
Like many of the new updates this was another customer enhancement request which we have successfully implemented. The new capabilities will allow easier reporting, additional filtering, hide & show, and select & highlight.

I am also super excited to announce that we have extended our Chaos testing capabilities.
In this release we now have a new runtime setting to support fail on error. This was another customer enhancement request so that chaos platform and performance test now have the actual status reflected accurately in both platforms. Be sure to check this out and let us know what else you would like to see implemented next.

On the VuGen protocol I am happy to announce a several new updates.  Not only have we updated our browser support but we have also extended our coverage to allow us to introduce a new protocol. We now support testing of AWS cloud services through the support of SQS.
With this protocol, you can create Vuser scripts to monitor the usage of Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS). The collected data is available in dedicated graphs in LoadRunner Controller and Analysis

Lastly I would like to announce a key infrastructure update whereby we have created a Reconnect Mechanism.
This mechanism for re connection from Controller to MIL back to Load Generator will allow for seamless reconnects to improves the stability and user experience when network performance degrades.
