Does LoadRunner Cloud support WebGL/OpenGL?

Hello all,

There is one application that uses WebGL/OpenGL to display 2D and 3D images and needs to be load tested. I am evaluating the option to inject the load from LoadRunner Cloud Azure distribution. but i am facing the error that WebGL/OpenGL Context cannot be created. So i have below questions before moving to local Load Generators:

Does LoadRunner Cloud support WebGL/OpenGL for TruClient scripts?

How to get the Azure locations enabled. Are Azure locations only enable when a LoadRunner license is purchased?

Does the Load Generators in AWS run in Windows or Linux? if there run on Windows, what Windows version? Windows 10, Windows 2016? other?

Is there any type of license for LoadRunner Cloud other that VUH so that we can run as many tests we need within a timeframe? The need is 600 concurrent TruClient Web users displaying 2D/3D images in a Chrome brower and WebGL.

Thank you in advance,

Marco

I assume you are using LRC trial license, in such case the regions are restricted to AWS, you can submit a service request to enable Azure regions in your trial tenant, in your service request please specify to reach out to LRC PM to get approval to process this request (otherwise, the support team may reject your request).

We will get back to you about support for WebGL/OpenGL as soon as we can.

When using TruClient, LRC will provision Windows LGs, if you need additional info on the LGs, please submit a support case.

LRC has two license models, VUs that allow you to run up to a certain limit of concurrent VUs, and VUH that allow you to consume a pool of testing hours. If you consider the first option (VU), you will have to get a price proposal from an MF rep.

    Hello Sharon,

    Thank you for your answer.

Let me confirm that at this moment i am using LRC trial license.

Does VU license allow several runs to the license limit? Could you share details on how VU license works? Is it similar to the subcription license for LRP On-Premises?

I burnt all the 10 executions in the LRC Trial license trying to understand the issue of TruClient script failing, it ended up in errors related to creating WebGL/OpenGL context. So i wonder if it is doable to get additional runs to check Azure resources. Could you comment on that?

We are willing to take the next license steps once we hear that WebGL/Open GL work in LRC Azure resources.

    Thank you in advance,

    Marco

    Hi Marco,

It would be much better to have direct communication, please consider reaching out to MF rep, or submit a service request, and ask to connect you with LRC PM.

I don’t think OpenGL is HTML-based which means unlikely to be supported by TruClient.

WebGL - there is a fix that can be applied for TruClient when using LRC, we should take this offline to discuss the specifics.

You can submit a request to extend your trial, plus adding Azure regions, and ask the support team to reach out to LRC PM to process your request.

LRC VUs license works similar to VUs in LR on-premises, you will be able to run concurrent runs, as long as the sum of all the VUs is less than the total VUs that you own, you should be good.

    Awesome Levin,

Thank you for putting me in the right direction. I just open the requestes as per your advice.

Kindly let me know how we can connect to work on the specifics for the fix needed for WebGL for TruClient.

FYI, i filed this request: SD00410251

    Thank you again and regards,

    Marco
