Loadrunner - using VUGEN to create script to download and run a file

Hi All

I have a scenario I need to create in VUGEN using web/http protocol to do the following:

logon to URL
Click button to download a file
run the downloaded file

I know that both steps 2 and 3 are not captured as they are done on the client side.. So they can't be recorded and as a result these can't be perf tested.

I am just wondering if there is any work around for these ?

I found this documentation on how to capture the download transaction (step 2)

Any suggestions on runnning the downloaded file or if anyone has found a suggestion/work around for this scenario ?

Hi Mai Nur when you know where the downloaded file located.You can use to C-function system() to execute a program.

You can also use Windows API functions do have more control. You need to load the kernel32.dll and explore the api function like CreateProcess(). But that is less trivial....
