Use LDAP and Application authentication

Hi @all,

How can I make it possible for both LDAP users and local users to log in to LRE?
I can only select one type of authentication in the user interface.
Is it possible to set the following in one of the configuration files?
"Search in LDAP first, if the user is not found there, search for local users"
I would be grateful for any suggestions, ideas and solutions.

Best regards, Ch. Richter

    Hi
, According to my understanding one can choose only one authentication mode.

We switched recently to SSO for LRE, so could not use Admin account any longer, but could assign a few users to Admin role.

Do you have users that are outside your LDAP setup or do you want to let LDAP uses map to multiple LRE users (due to multiple roles)?

Most of time using SSO / LDAP is also a security driven decision (introducing MFA, automatic protected against closed accounts etc.).

You can always address this in the 'Idea Exchange' section of the forum and see what you get.

    Hello,

as we are using this LRE instance for testing and demo purposes, we need to add user credentials outside of our LDAP. At least in LRE2023.R1 it was possible to use both logins (in the GUI LDAP was defined as default).
Due to an update issue I was forced to delete the old default databases (site management, siteadmin and default lab) and create new ones.
I seem to remember that it was possible to define the desired behavior in a configuration file.

    Best regards, Christoph
