If LDAP was configured in LoadRunner Enterprise (LRE) prior to upgrade to LRE 24.1; after upgrade to LRE 24.1 is complete LDAP login attempts will fail. Error observed in LRECore.api logs; "Most likely this data was encrypted using encryption string that was replaced after installation, data encryption key is forever. use envelop key approach to manage data encryption recycling".

Situation

LDAP login attempts are failing with errors in LRECore.api logs.  Error observed: 

Most likely this data was encrypted using encryption string that was replaced after installation, data encryption key is forever. use envelop key approach to manage data encryption recycling

Cause

LRE 24.1 uses a different encryption mechanism for the password and the LDAP passwords were not re-encrypted before the upgrade completed.
