(PVCS VM) Support Tip: Ensuring the required OS packages are installed on Linux

When running PVCS Version Manager on Linux, ensure the OS has the required packages (RPMs) installed. If this is not done, some components of the application fail to work.

The following KB doc shows how to do this for the Linux operating systems supported by PVCS VM, and has sample error messages to see what happens when a package is missing:

If the SLM License Server is running on the same machine, use the following KB doc to install the packages needed for that application:

The commands in these KB doc only install the missing components, so they can be used regardless of whether some RPMs are already installed.
