Problem:

When using the Microsoft Office Import tool why do I get the error "Invalid URI: The format of the URI could not be determined"?

Resolution:

You will likely see two error messages reported as shown below :

The reason for the errors is that the Office Import tool reads the URI from a configuration file in order to connect to SilkCentral Test Manager. If this file becomes corrupt then the Import Tool may no longer be able to obtain the URI. In order to check and, if necessary, modify the file you need to:

• Browse to the directory C:\Program Files\Borland\SilkCentral Test Manager x.x\OfficeImport
• Locate the file called Office Import.exe.config and open this file in a text editor.
• In the text editor please ensure that the SCTM host name is entered into the correct "value =" fields

NOTE: The value will represent the machine name where the SilkCentral Test Manager Application Server is installed. You should also note that .Net Framework 1.1 is needed to use the Import Tool. If you continue to experience problems contact support@borland.com
