QUESTION

Can I create an automated test definition out of a manual test definition in SilkCentral Test Manager?

ANSWER
----------------------------------

Yes. To do this;

  1. Select "Create New Automated Test" by right clicking on the manual test definition. The test definition properties dialog is opened.

  2. Select the SilkTest test type from the drop down box. The new test definition wizard continues as usual. If a test script is entered that does not exist already, it will be generated containing the manual test step descriptions as SilkTest comment lines.

The following information is copied from the manual test to the new automated test:

  • attributes and parameters
  • assigned requirements
  • assigned execution definitions
  • assigned issues
  • attachments including those assigned to the manual test steps
