Problem:

When running the StarTeam Test Director Synchronizer, why do I receive the error "Cannot log in using OTA APIs"?

Resolution:


  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2008/2006
  • Product Component: StarTeam Synchronizer for Test Director
  • Platform/OS Version: All


This will occur when you have the wrong credentials specified for the following fields contained in the Bugsync.ini file:

  • MTD_APP_PROJECT
  • MTD_APP_PASSWORD
  • MTD_APP_USERNAME

In order to confirm the correct credentials are specified, follow the steps below:

  1. Open a browser on the machine you are running the Synchronizer from
  2. Connect to Quality Center
  3. Try logging in using the same username, password and project you specified in the ini file for the fields above.
