Problem:

When running a purge of my Oracle database why does it appear to hang or never actually complete?

Resolution:

  • Product Name: StarTeam
  • Product Version: 2005 R2 Patch 12
  • Product Component: StarTeam Server
  • Platform/OS Version: All

This is a known issue in earlier builds of 2005 R2 server and these purging issues are resolved with patch 35 for the server.

It is also recommended to run the purge from the command line as it is a faster process than the administration console purge.
