If the user has set a process item for the view,   STEC will automatically select the link and pin option. By default, the   "Link and pin process item" check box should be selected if the   StarTeam Client Options has an active process item set. When the Checkin   dialog is used, the check box is selected without the user needing to do   anything.

The context menu option “replace with latest   version” is only disabled when it is not available.

Select the current active process item, and not   the last selected, to resolve the issue.
