Problem:

After upgrading to 2008 R2, we are witnessing very high MPX traffic at server startup.

  Description:
  After upgrading Server to 2008 R2, we are witnessing very high MPX (on MB port) traffic at server startup. This unusual traffic is eventually crashing ST server and Message Broker.
  
  

Answer/Solution:

This is a known defect. What is happening is when you start Starteam Server, File Transmitter also starts at the same time and instead of broadcasting only the newly added files in cachejournal.dat file, FT is broadcasting all the files. As of 12/9/2008 , Internal CR#47,627 has been created and currently R&D is working on a Server patch to fix this defect.
