How does Web Edition determines the SDK version for connecting to ST server?

• Product Name: StarTeam
• Product Version: 2006R2/2008
• Product Component: Web Edition
• Platform/OS Version: Windows 2003/XP

Description:

Web Edition 2006 R2, 2008 version don’t have any configuration files pointing to specific SDK version however when some one login thru web edition, ST server log has following entry..

Client: StarTeam Web Edition 2006, Build 30; SDK 10.4.8.22; JVM 1.5.0_09-b03; Windows XP

Question is what is linking a specific SDK version and Web Edition?

Answer/Solution:

StarTeam Web Edition doesn"t depend on any configuration file instead always uses latest StarTeam COM API for connecting to StarTeam server. COM API gets installed in the machine when ever regular SDK is installed. To find out latest version of COM API installed in your machine, download the attached JavaScript and just double click the file to run.
