On Tuesday, November 12, as part of a company wide initiative to bring all corporate websites under the OpenText brand, the Community will be down briefly around 11am Eastern / 8am Pacific as we transition to a new domain name.  The community will be offline while we make the change and when it comes back online it will be located at community.opentext.com and the old domain will redirect to this new location.  Thank you for your patience as we make this important change.

Enabling the Source Control for a TrackRecord user

This article explains how to enable the Source Control for a TrackRecord user.

Problem:

When I open a defect in TrackRecord and go to Edit > Source Control, the options for Get Latest Version, Check Out, and Check In are grayed out. Why is this?

Resolution:

To use the Source Control feature, in addition to having a source control program such as Microsoft Visual SourceSafe installed, you must have a VCS Username and Password configured for the user you are currently logged in as. You can set this up by going to Administrator > User Administration and editing the user in question. At the bottom of the User Properties form, there are two boxes for VCS Properties, the Name and the Password. Once these are filled out, the Source Control menu should be available.
