Managing Critical Content in 2021

The release is part of our ongoing commitment in the Micro Focus IM&G team towards supporting customers to get the most from their data and employees. Introducing Content Manager 10

Featuring intuitive querying, flexible user types and an enriched user experience, Content Manager 10 contains over 300 customer-suggested enhancements to offer our best ever support for today’s most challenging content management and compliance-related activities. Micro Focus Content Manager 10 seeks to address many of today’s increasingly important content management use cases to drive further efficiency and power into our customers’ hands.

Our technical services team got to grips with the new Content Manager product and pulled together a short series of simple demos to explain the process of getting set up and ready with the new version. We have recorded and made these available on our YouTube channel. Here’s a quick summary of what you can find:

Content Manager 10.0 installation Series: In this series with look at the installation of Micro Focus Content Manager 10.

This first episode gives an introduction of the capabilities, an overview of the components of the architecture and the installation steps.

In this episode, we install the main components of CM for a minimum installation: the workgroup server, i.e. the main application, create a dataset in an SQL Server to store the metadata, connect it to a file share document store and check connectivity with the desktop client.

In this episode, we install and configure the web client interface: First the web services API, then CM web application and we finally connect with the browser.

This episode is about restoring the demonstration dataset that comes with the installation kit. This demo environment allows one to test the capabilities of CM. We will register it and enable access via the desktop client.
