Usage of Teams integration with multiple datasets

We're looking at Teams integration and one thing I've wondered about is the usage of multiple datasets.

We have multiple production datasets used by different business groups/agencies, and I've wondered how the Teams integration can handle this, such as when creating a new Teams site, can it dynamically set the correct dataset to integrate to based upon criteria like the users business unit, or other metadata.

Wondering if anyone has done this integration where there are more than one dataset?

    Hi Jeff,

From memory the app manifest for the Teams Add-In that gets configured points to a single instance of the ServiceAPI so would mean one app manafest per dataset as each instance of the ServiceAPI talks to a single dataset.

Haven't tried loading in more than one app manifest per tenant so not sure how a 'multi dataset' Teams scenario would play out.

Don't believe its dynamic enough to auto pick up based upon teams channel data.

Might be worth reaching out to a preferred partner or OpenText direct to see if they can organise a more in-depth demo of the Teams integration to see where the potential friction points may be.

I've got multiple manifests installed to allow me to connect a Team/Channel up to different datasets. As far as I can tell it will always be a manual process to pick the 'right' manifest for the 'right' dataset.

Hi Scotty thanks for the reply. What I see in some OT documentation is:

Drop-down allows users to easily manage multiple CM datasets from the one Teams interface. All data across various datasets can be viewed from Teams

I will do some more digging to understand the speciifics.

    Cheers
