Send record to Mail crashes Outlook client

Symptoms

User has both CM client and Outlook client open altogether, then from CM client, right click on a record > Send To > Mail > Outlook client crashes.

Solution

It seems to be an issue in CM9.4 in combination with a specific version of MS Office and is being investigated.
However user can try this as a workaround to avoid the crash:

Enable the option: "Use Simple MAPI to connect to your email client" under Content Manager options > Email tab.
