You can use two different methods
Object Copy https://docs.microfocus.com/doc/Data_Protector/11.01/ObjectCopy
Media Copy https://docs.microfocus.com/doc/Data_Protector/11.01/MediaCopying

Media copy need the source media same as the target media , so it can't use to copy the data from LTO6 tape to LTO8 tape.Is it right ?
Correct. You cannot use media copy to copy from LT6 to LTO8. The best solution is to use object copy and doing so you can also reorganize source date while copying them (i.e. consolidate several LTO6 tape in one LTO8 tape).
