Data Protector on HPE StoreEasy installation

We have a strange request for a small environment. 
The environment consists of two esxi hosts and a vcenter. Several virtual machines are running on it. 
There is also one HPE StoreEasy storage in the area. 
The requirement is to install the Data Protector application on it. 
As far as I've seen, it's absolutely possible. 
I am interested which device LTU is used in that case (NDMP or advanced backup to disk or something else)

I used to be serious about this product. I still maintain a few sites with version 7 (due to TRU64 support) so I have no experience with new things, virtualization and licenses.

Besides the traditional Feature-based licensing, we now have Capacity-based (Premium) licensing and also Socket-based (Express) licensing. The most complete one is the Premium license which includes ZDB, ABD, NDMP and many other features. But for your environment the Express license may be an interesting (cheaper) fit. Please see the links above for more info about each license type. If you would like to upgrade any existing feature based licenses, you must have a valid active support agreement in place. Hello Koen

Thanks for answer. Just one little ambiguity. Capacity-based license I dont need to combine with Feature-based licenses because every feature is incuded, am I right?

So what is about Socjet-based licensing? Do I need to combine it with Feature-based if I need something (for example disk backup or app integration...). I dont see information and explanation bout that case.

Hello Dusan, Koen

Mix licenses between them is not supported, it means capacity or traditional with Socket-based license type.

If you are planning to use Socked based license then please use GRE integration for to recover a single file, and VSS quiescence option for app running into VM, so of course for this kind of environment is recommend to use traditional or Premium license.
