Data Protector tape to disk/cloud copy?

Hi,

Please can you advise me? We have about 7500 LTO3 tapes with Data Protector Backups. We do have a Data Protector Cell Manager. We want to get these backups data to disk/cloud storage. If we import the tapes into Data Protector is there a way to "Backup copy Job" the backup to disk/cloud?

    You can use Object Copy to make copies of media from a local device to a cloud device. Once your cloud device is set up that should not be an issue. The problem I see though is to do this for 7500 tapes. That's going to be a time consuming task. Depending on how long this data on tape is still protected, you may want to think about a strategy to start using your cloud devices in parallle with copying a subset of the 7500 tapes maybe.
