Maintenance Lifcycle

Reading https://portal.microfocus.com/s/article/KM000029477?language=en_US&t=1715321160905 I was surprised:

Wasn't Data Protector 23.3 announced to be a "long-term" supported release? Reading above document, Data Protector 11.01 (30 Apr 25) has longer support than 23.03 (31 Jul 24).

    Hi Ulrich,

This is the new policy as it's well explained here:

    https://www.microfocus.com/productlifecycle/

Please note: Data Protector has adopted OpenText’s release and versioning policy. Going forward, releases will occur quarterly. The product version nomenclature will be Year.Quarter (i.e. 23.3, 23.4, 24.1, etc...).

Each year, quarterly releases 1 through 3 (i.e. versions YY.1, YY.2, and YY.3) will be Short-term Support (STS) releases with 1-year of support.  The fourth quarterly release of the year (i.e. version YY.4), will be a Long-term Support (LTS) release with 3-years of support.

Due to adoption of OpenText’s version nomenclature, Data Protector 11.04 and 11.05 will be named 23.3 and 23.4, respectively. Version 23.4 will be a LTS release, supported through October 31, 2026

    Thanks for understanding,

    Best Regards,

    /Toni

Ah, sorry, I mixed up 23.3 with 23.4; maybe because it looks as if 23.3 were the latest release. Maybe 23.4 should be added to the document.
