For EADR Procedure (We have one server with HPE and NEW server is DELL)

Dear Support,

I have a question below is the statement.

I have one server HPE Gen10 ProLiant I have running servers on it Physically and I took backup`s regularly. If we need to test the same services on different hardware like DELL servers or HPE different model. Which option I need to select on BACKUP setting before doing backup.

I am planning to test EADR on different hardware we commonly use for same server and use options like COPY RECOVERY SET TO DISK , DETECT NTFS HARDLINKS etc.

For different hardware what option we will choose I hear about it in some video but I forgot that option.

Thanks Please suggest!

    Hello

The options that you need to check during backup are exactly the same than using the same hardware. For to recover in a different hardware during wizard recovery just set the right option

    • Enable Dissimilar Hardware Restore: If enabled, Data Protector scans the system for missing drivers during the recovery. The option is enabled by selecting one of the following methods from the drop-down list:

      • Unattend (default): This mode automatically configures the operating system to various hardware platforms using a predefined configuration file. This is the primary mode of recovery with dissimilar hardware. Use it in the first instance.
      • Generic: Select this if Unattend mode fails (perhaps because of a misconfiguration of the restored operating system). It is based on adapting the restored OS registry and its drivers and services to the dissimilar hardware.

    Hi, Thanks for response!
As you can see the snapshot during ISO boot having error initial level. I am not sure why its happened.

HPE Gen10 Server its Physically Installed OS.

What I am doing I am trying to restore it on VM environment (With having all requirements like HDD, Network etc)

So In this case how we can achieve it?
