More Issues with 9.09 -> 10.50 upgrade documentation

We have a RHEL 6 cell manager at 9.09 and are planning an upgrade to 10.50, from the prerequisites:

"The Cell Manager's host name FQDN is present in standalone.xml file."

However, our cell managers FQDN is not present in the standalone.xml file. What to do?, how should I add it or do I not need to? DP9.x is working just fine and it is linux cell manager with installation server for linux running on same server.

Am I fine to upgrade as is and is it only a special case that the FQDN would need to be in standalone.xml file, e.g. only required if upgrading from 10.x to 10.50? Again, I am going from 9.09 to 10.50 and everything has been working fine, but I don't meet this upgrade prereq and I'm not sure what to do.

And... do I then later after upgrade need to make a change to wildfly configuration per this statement in prerequisites?:

"Important Any changes made in JBoss 7.1 standalone.xml file, apart from the configurations listed above, must be manually added in the WildFly configuration file after upgrade."

  • More information. My standalone.xml has url definitions that point to localhost. I wonder if the requirement for FQDN being in the jboss standalone.xml file is only required when the DB does NOT live on the same host as cell manager?

If not, am I to shutdown DP and change all the "localhost" entries to my server hostname prior to upgrade? That seems odd to do.

    Hello ,

In the DP 9 standalone.xml, there are no names of the server, at least in the servers I checked.
The local host you mentioned are from database configurations, do not change them.

This note is only if you have made any changes to the JBoss configuration file manually, other than Logger levels and formats, LDAP configuration or PostgreSQL credentials. If you haven't done anything like this, you don't need to modify the standalone.xml after the upgrade.
