Multiple "on_host" post execs in one list

Hi,

i have to start multiple scripts on different hosts as a post exec.
I know i can do one "POSTEXEC" in the header of the datalist and also multiple "-post_exec" for filesystems but it looks like a -post_exec is not compatible with -on_host. Is there a way to do multiple POSTEXEC -on_host or get -post_exec -on_host to work?

  • Hello ,

    As I know there is no way to run more than one post-exec script. But I know that you can use ssh or Remote cmd command in the script to run the instructions needed.

  • Hello ,

    This depends on what you need. Remember you can have pre/post-exec in a file system backup:

    1. When the session starts/ends. with the "on_host" capability

    2. At the start/end of each client system selected in a  backup spec automatically to each client

    3. At the start/end of multiple clients based on your requirements, added manually in Backup Object summary

    If you have even more specific requirements create a master script to be executed on the Cell Manager doing the required activities remotely using SSH from Cell Manager. If the script is becoming large and you're running DP 10.x consider placing the following omnirc option on the host executing the script.

    OB2RUNSCRIPT=1
