No write device with suitable block size found StoreOnce to Tape

Hello together,

i have a Problem with Some Copy Jobs and this Error.

"No write device with suitable block size found."

and

"reached its inactivity timeout of 600 seconds.
The agent on host will be shutdown."

We have a StoreOnce 4500 with CatalystStores and a MSL6480 with LTO7 Tapes.

Normal Backup to the CatalystStores and after the Backup a Copy Job from CatalystStore to Tape.

MSL Drive Blocksitze Setting is 256.

We Update the Version to 9.07 but the Problem is not solved. What can i do, to get good Copy Jobs withhout to spent ours to fix the failed Objects.

Hope for some Help and thank you in advance

  • Please share the full session report of the copy session that is failing. What is the first error that is seen in the log?

If it is really related to the block size then you need to make sure source and destination devices (also previously created media that is selected for copy) have the same block size. I have seen cases where this kind of error is only reported as a subsequent error that can be ignored.

This is expected on a hard crash .I would recommend to start with a fresh media or recycle the old copy session before starting the new one.

This looks like the issue we had with 9.07 and where QCCR2A69318_HF1 helped.

You can ignore those. That are subsequent errors. The first error in session log is usually the one that matters.
