When we install data protector disk agent on client server , it creates "perl" folder in C:\Program Files\OmniBack\lib\.
Please help me to know what is the use of this perl folder and what kind of library it creates.
Thank You fbrenes for info. Can you please confirm which DP module uses perl and how it uses perl.exe
I have activeperl commercial , which running of each client server. There is a requirement to remove this activeperl. If we remove activperl, will there be any impact in omniback?
The included 32 bit Perl distribution included with the Data Protector Core module is used for very basic things such as certificate creation or the online integrations on the client (e.g. Oracle). If you remove it you will break the client.
You can consider removing C:\Program Files\OmniBack\bin from the PATH instead if it conflicts with the ActiveState perl installed on the system. I never had issues using both on the same system.
