Unable to install HPDP7.0 on clients system running WIndows 2012

We are using HPDP v7.0 in our environment to meet Backup & Restore operations. From last couple of days when we tried to install HPDP v7.0 on clients running windows 2012 has failed. And the error message encounter during installation was given below:

    Please be advised that Data Protector 7.x is no longer supported.   I did some research into this error and found the following:

     

    The cause of this issue could be permissions on key level in the Windows registry. Those can be changed on the fly so even using same user, which installed DP in the first place, may not work.

    Workaround / Fix

     

    Right click on the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard\OpenView\OmniBackII key and check that the user doing isntallation has the necessary rights to access it.

    Search for all entries listed in the error and check their permissions as well. If needed correct them accordingly.

     

     

    and

     

    Some registry entries are not cleaned up correctly and causes the installation to fail.

     

    One thing you could try is to use control panel and remove any and all Data Protector Entities and then try to install the product fresh.
