oracle integration AIX error

Hi

We have recently installed AIX 7 on a number of lpars which are running Oracle 12

On one of these we have installed DP client and Oracle integration 9.05

We are trying to setup the Oracle backup but using both the GUI and util_oracle8.pl we get the same error

*RETVAL *8100

SBT_LIBRARY=/usr/omni/lib/libob2oracle8_64bit.a

CHILDERROR : 1

process exit code: 1 Signal : 0

ERROR MESSAGE STACK

RMAN-03009: failure to allocate command on DP_TEST channel at

ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication  channel

From all that I have read it implies this means that you need to setup a link to the  DP MML library from the Oracle home dir which we did for older versions of DP

I have just read in the dp 9 integration guide that you no longer have to setup the link

We setup a link libobk.a to the DP library to see if this fixed the issue but it still fails

Any ideas what else I can try to get this to configure

    Hi,

    Check if the services has right permitions:

    On your Oracle server, start 'sqlplus / nolog'.  Then run this command, let me know what it comes back  with:

    :/ # su – oracle

    [P]-/home/oracle

    >sqlplus /nolog

    SQL*Plus: Release 12.1.0.2.0 Production on Thu Mar 3 10:44:08 2016

    Copyright (c) 1982, 2014, Oracle.  All rights reserved.

    SQL> connect dp_integration/*******@{P} as sysdba

    Connected.

  • HI thanks for your reply

    Ran the command for our environment and as shown in your example it connected ok

  • hi,

    It seems the problem is the library , I know that you programmed but could send the way you did?

    I think it should be this way :

    #su – oracle

    $cd $ORACLE_HOME

    ]-/u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0

    > cd lib

    >umask 000

    > ll | grep libobk

    > ln -s /opt/omni/lib/libob2oracle8_64bit.a libobk.so

    >ll | grep libobk

    lrwxr-xr-x   1 oracle     oinstall        36 Feb 29 15:27 libobk.so -> /opt/omni/lib/libob2oracle8_64bit.a

    Regards.

  • Hi

    Thanks once again for your input

    Sorry for delay in getting back to you all the lpars had been shutdown for a week

    the link that I had set was

    libobk.a -> /usr/omni/lib/libob2oracle8_64bit.a

    I will create a link replacing libobk.a with libobk.so and let you know the outcome
