DP object copy from one StoreOnce software store to another does not support replication

When attempting to produce a remote copy of a backed up object from one site's local B2D store to another at a different site, Data Protector 9.03 is not allowing the device option "Use replication" to be checked.  It throws up an error box saying the destination device does not support replication.

Is there some component I'm missing here?  The originating site has a StoreOnce software store that is working correctly and the destination also has a StoreOnce software store but object copies always rehydrate and spend way too long.

  • My Env have DP904 and a single Storeonce. B6500.

I could able to do Object Copy from one Store to another, using B2D devices with Target side Deduplication.

Are you using Source Side deduplication gateways or Target Side Deduplication gateways?

If Source Side, is it supported and was working for you before?

  • Also you must consider below points:

    - When you enable replication between B2D devices, you must set the maximum number of connections per store on the selected destination device to a number greater than or equal to the maximum limit on load balancing configured in the backup specification.
    - You cannot select source-side gateways for object consolidation. For full backups, Data Protector automatically selects another gateway. For incremental backups, you need to select another gateway manually. The gateway must belong to the same B2D device as the source-side gateway.
    - You cannot select source-side gateways for object copy. You can either:
             a. Replace the read source device with a non-source-side gateway manually. The gateway must belong to the same B2D device as the source-side gateway.
            b. In the Properties window of a non-source-side gateway, go to the Policies tab and select Gateway may be used as source gateway for object copy. Data Protector will automatically replace the source-side gateway with this gateway.
