DP 10.91 - Legacy vCenter still visible under Restore context menu.

Hi All Slight smile

Hopeful that someone may be able to offer me some advice, I am doing some long over due cleaning up on a newly upgraded 10.91 Windows Based DP environment.

The DP environment does VEPA backups, and has 1 vCenter imported and visible within the 'Clients' context menu.

Question:

We still however see the old/decommissioned vCenter hostname under the 'Restore/Virtual Environment' menu .... This vCenter is NOT listed under Client.

I can confirm that no backup sessions are still protected that were created via this vCenter, and this old vCenter is NOT listed in the CELL_INFO file either?!?

So HOW Slight smile can it still be visible in the GUI? very strange.

I have a feeling this is also incorrectly consuming on-line licenses.

If anyone could suggest anything it would be really appreciated.

    Jon,

    I see this is still unanswered. Not sure you have found out more in the meantime?

    I would check these objects in the Internal Database GUI context, go to the properties and check related media. I'm assuming the media are still there, protected or not, but not re-used. Possibly it are old media, not used anymore now, that can be exported out of the IDB?

    Just a hint and one possible cause. Please let us know what you can find.

    Koen, thank you!

    I tracked down the tape media associated with this session and whilst it had no protection it was obviously still causing us some issues. 

    I have exported this tape from the IDB and the legacy vCenter and session have now been removed from the Restore context and IDB :) ... thank you for your help.

    We do still now have 3 legacy ESXi hosts consuming online licenses, another issue I need to try and resolve but that is a another question, hoping there is a vepa_util export command or similar.

    Anyway thanks again for your help
