The EADR process is not a one size fits all and often needs tweeks and adjustments suited to you particular hardware. I'd test the method out before you need it. also to keep in mind the OS EADR backup would be reliant on the same OS the original backup was taken from so in this scenario with an OS upgrade you might be better off rebuilding the OS to 2019 manually and then recovering the IDB afterwards, Just make sure you have taken a full IDB backup and secured the OBRINDEX.DAT file prior to OS upgrade, afterwards, with this file you can do a full IDB recovery pretty quickly. After the IDB backup finishes go to \omniback\server\db80\logfile\rlog\ and save out the obrindex.dat file to another server or ftp site. should the OS upgrade fail reinstall the base Windows OS, reinstall DP (to the same paths as previous) and follow the directions as outlined in the Admin Docs here :

if possible i'd recommend setting up a test VM, install DP and get familiar with the offline restore outlined above.

Just wanted to provide a quick update - EADR seems fairly extreme for this scenario having read into the requirements and prerequisites. 

I am familiar with the omniofflr / OBRINDEX restore method, so I am planning to use this as my primary back out if things don't go to plan during the Operating System In place upgrade - taking pre OS upgrade IDB backups and exports of Encrypted keys info etc.

This should hopefully give us a bit more confidence with the OS upgrade,
