copy dataprotector

Hello to all,

I want to copy our dataprotector 7.03 installation on HPUX ia 11.31 to another HPUX server to do a upgrade test to 9.04.

What is the best way to do that?

Thanks in advance, Alfons

  • If you have the Time do an Export of the Source-IDB (omnidbutil -writedb), install a clean new CellServer, Patch it and import that Dump (omnidbutil -readdb). That way the DB is already optimized and Upgrade to 9.xx is probably smoother (some Junk in older IDBs may cause the Upgrade to fail or be inconsistent).

Don't forget to copy over your Configs (/etc/opt/omni/server) and remaining IDB Parts like DCBFs, Message-Files and Co (/var/opt/omni/server). Suggest to skip lic.dat so that you can use the 60 day trial instead of needing additonal licenses.
