StoreOnce Catalyst Copy hangs with Link Failure

Symptoms

After upgrading to StoreOnce firmware to 3.18.18 (Gen3) or 4.2.1 (Gen4) the Data Protector Replication (StoreOnce Catalyst Copy) using CoFC (Catalyst over FC) may hang. A Link Failure will be reported in the Outbound Copy Jobs in the StoreOnce GUI (available on the source StoreOnce Catalyst store).

Diagnosis

The replication is properly initiated by Data Protector, but the StoreOnce system fails to process it.

Solution

As long as a permanent solution included in new StoreOnce firmware is not available, contact HPE Support and request the change of the parameter qla2xxx_stats_update_period_minutes from 1 to 0. This will resolve the problem.
