Situation

Sometimes you may want to remove a component from a Data Protector (DP) SLES 15 client.

Reasons for this could be
- a DP component is unsupported on SLES 15.
- a DP component is not used and may cause a license requirement if left installed.

How to remove a DP component from a SLES 15 client system?

The command `zypper search` will list the components installed on the system including DP components.

Eg.
i+ | OB2-AUTODR | Micro Focus Data P-> | package
i+ | OB2-CC | Micro Focus Data P-> | package
i+ | OB2-CORE | Micro Focus Data P-> | package
i+ | OB2-DA | Micro Focus Data P-> | package
i+ | OB2-INTEG | Micro Focus Data P-> | package
i+ | OB2-MA | Micro Focus Data P-> | package
i+ | OB2-SMISA | Micro Focus Data P-> | package
i+ | OB2-TS-CORE | Micro Focus Data P-> | package
i+ | OB2-TS-PEGASUS | Micro Focus Data P-> | package

To remove a component run `zypper remove <Component Name>`

Eg. to remove the AutoDR component run `zypper remove OB2-AUTODR`

hostname:~ # zypper remove OB2-AUTODR

OB2-CORE or OB2-INTEG or OB2-TS-CORE or OB2-TS-PEGASUS

After removing a DP component from the client go to the Cell Manager (CM) and reconnect the GUI.
In the Clients context check if the component shows as being removed from the Client.

If the component shows as being removed this process is finished.

If the CM still shows the component as installed prompt the Cell Manager to check the client by running the command...
`omnicc -update_host <client hostname>`

After this, and refreshing the GUI, the CM should no longer show the removed component.
