Environment

Data Protector version: 11.02
Client OS: Windows Server 2019

Situation

Local installation of DP 11.02 failed with the errors as shown in the image below:

Cause

The Windows server was missing the root certificates that are required for a successful Data Protector installation.

Resolution

  1. Change the DisableRootAuth to ZERO.
    1. Open the registry
    2. Go to path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\AuthRoot\
    3. Right-click the DisableRootAuth and choose Modify.
    4. Set the value to be 0 and click Ok to save the changes.
  2. Repair DP installation from the Control Panel.
