Knowledge Document: Notification and reporting emails stopped functioning due to changes in SMTP server's hostname

The reporting email could not be sent due to a change in the FQDN of the SMTP server.

Environment

Data Protector version: 10.30
Operation system of cell server: Windows Server 2012

Situation

Reports and notifications sent via the SMTP protocol are not reaching the intended recipients. No warning or error messages appear when the report is triggered from graphic user interface (GUI). The SMTP server is configured by IP address.
When resolving the name and using telnet with the IP address specified in the global file, a different hostname appears: 
C:\Users\user>nslookup 192.168.3.224
Server:  hostname.com
Address:  10.98.0.198

Name:    autodiscover.host.com
Address:  192.168.3.224

C:\Users\user>telnet 192.168.3.224 25
220 another-host.com Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service ready at Tue,2 Apr 2024 11:11:44 +0530
